the hotel experiment and dog

He wasn't my guy when we got to the motel. Tinkle now.tinkle more and just lift a leg, would be the gist of the stay.. Then again he didn't try to attack or bite anyone. That;s ;unusual and a good thing.

Today, came home from a short shop. He told me in his yap yap of how upset he was because I had left him.
So I'm voting he feels confident in the car. He might need a another night in a motel to give it his full yap approval.

Never ever encourage bad behavior from a really smart dog. Even when they are old; they learn new tricks.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!

I've been taking my cat with me on overnights. She lays in my lap or on the dash as we drive, and loves exploring new hotel rooms. Had to get her a big scratcher, though, as she loves sharpening her claws on the leather furniture (I've learned to cover chairs with a thick blanket). Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find a hotel that accepts cats. "Pet friendly" at most hotels really means "Dog friendly--cats not welcome." I understand, I just wish they would specify.

You are so correct! I cannot tell you how many times I've experienced this and have learned to call ahead. Almost 99 of 100 times I am greeted with words about it being dogs only, even after reading their own policies to them and asking for clarification. I had one hotel make an exception ONCE but it really means dog friendly. My cat is kind of scary, though. He's almost 30 inches long and is close to the 30 lb mark. He's similar to a Savannah but not as tall. I should just put a costume and harness on him like a dog. I doubt folks would notice if he kept his meows at bay.
