Car needs an oil change, again!

This is the first month when I thought I could finally take advantage of an oil change shop. The mileage requirements never quite work out. They finally started offering them in my neck of the woods last month, brand new location as well.

No shops this month. Well there are but in different states. I'll be at WalMart tomorrow.

There are many oil change shops around me, but I prefer DIY. I don't want someone cross-threading my oil pan bolt, putting in the wrong type or amount of fluid, etc. There are many other shops to take IMHO.
I can get two, but like the one that offers a car wash, saves me another 13.00.

A car wash, that's better! I had to put the car in the garage because we may get more wicked storms tonight or tomorrow. So no free car wash from Mother Nature for me.

Haven't checked the requirements in a while, but does one still make you call and ask if they have the filter for your vehicle?
"Uh, yes sir, we do have the filter for the most popular vehicle sold in Texas."

I've never been able to take advantage of any oil shops. But I would love to ask the question. If I didn't laugh I could pull it off.

the only good thing about having the most popular vehicle sold in the state is that even if I make that call and ask, they won't know I'm the shopper when I get there since they probably see the vehicle several times per hour.
If I had to ask the question, they would know me. Subaru's are popular, but not the most popular vehicle in TX. BTW, what is the most popular vehicle? My area we're converting to Tundra's.
