Do You Like Five Guys Burgers? (not a mystery shopping-related question)

I usually order a regular hamburger all the way. After the burger and Little Cajun Fries and beverage, it's more than enough. Worst part, IMO, is the plain bun. Next time I'll try the grilled veggies. The fries are good, but I wouldn't want them all the time. I also like the SmashBurger [SB] sweet potato fries with honey mustard on the side (but not the regular shoestring SB fries...too dry/crunchy). Now if I could get the Five Guys hamburger all the way with grilled veggies on a SB roll...we're making something! winking smiley [No more than once a month though]

Grilled or roasted vegetables add flavor to everything! You don't need to add salt because it comes from the veggies.

I get grilled mushrooms and onions. I will try grilled peppers next time.

I think so, HB. But I could be wrong.

It was interesting, because my cashier recommended the grilled veggies and he just listed them, along with other veggies. I thought about it and said something like: "Okay, I'll have them all." grinning smiley

I do believe the green peppers, mushrooms, and onions were all grilled. But the main thing was just loading the burger up with all those veggies I mentioned. I made it more flavorful, because for some reason the Five Guys burgers don't seem seasoned to me. They tend to be very bland.

In-N-Out's meat, on the other hand, seems seasoned if I'm not mistaken.

But I also learned the Five Guys' burgers are cooked fresh every day, so they don't have additives or preservatives in their burger meat. Maybe I'm so used to frozen meats with preservatives and additives that I can no longer tell what a fresh burger should taste like? smiling smiley Either way, they do seem bland, but with a loaded burger it became more flavorful to me and healthier too.

I've got a renewed outlook on FG now. Can't wait until my next shop!

The next time you have a milkshake shop, get peanut butter and bacon. You'll thank me.

I do not spend my money to eat at 5 Guys but I do all of the shops that I can. The milkshakes are divine!!! I want them to get more types of cheese (provolone, pepper jack, swiss, cheddar)and maybe multi grain buns. smiling smiley

Given their claims to freshness of food (burgers have no additives or preservatives and are made new everyday), does anyone notice the lack of a fast food "crash" after eating them?

I know I feel terrible after eating most fast food, but I haven't noticed that that I can remember with Five Guys.

Could they be the healthy burger joint, lol? grinning smiley
My town has become the burger capitol with new places daily. competition is high and yes, even the old FF places are trying to make a healthier burger, using better oil, bacon and upping it (if you will). We have a burger place that uses the best beef, medium rare melts in your mouth, homemade buns (the best), of course garlic fries are seperate and the burger is 13.00, so for 17 bucks you get a very satisfying meal. Carr's Jr. here is offering a decent burger and with the coupon sells for about 7, and not bad. Five guys, I don't work for that company, and have not been there, enjoying my Inn@Out, and the new Hook burger, it's enough already!! When they serve their burgers well done only, a sign meat is not great, places that will cook to order (medium rare) have good meat, the quality of meat makes the price. My foodies group made a study of burgers.

Live consciously....
Right! They under cooked my burger once, recently, and you could taste the old fat globules and a tinge of that old meat taste and pick/spit a few un-chewable, hardened tiny globs out of mouth. Gross!
I did not like the 5G's at first but recently started shopping them again. I up the ante and usually spend $15 ($3 over the reimbursement limit) and do a double cheeseburger w/bacon, pickle, ketchup and mustard. Eat half and take the other half home. The doubles are a lot better than the singles. I don't like their buns either but can live with them. Just got my first really decent bonus from the MSC that shops 5G's. They asked how much I wanted to drive 70 miles to get a burger. Asked for $50 thinking they would say no way but instead they said yes but I had to do that day. Fortunately I had nothing scheduled so off I went.

70 miles round-trip, plmccut? I hope it's not one-way!

I would require $65 to do that shop for mileage/gas/wear&tear and then time and labor too.

I am starting to like their burgers too. I was an In-N-Out loyalist for so long, but they don't have them in the East here. I like the fresher taste of 5G's burgers and the loaded veggies you can place on them. I just have to realize they are super loaded with calories and make sure I exercise extra when I eat there.

Beats McDonald's any day to me! You get peanuts and the small fries are so huge that I always take some home (always ask for them in a separate bag when I order).

Coming from a family with a history of heart disease, I rarely eat burgers, or meat for that matter. I will eat it if I'm getting paid, and $24 is my base price for 5 guys. It happens, but rarely. It's nice when it does though. I can justify eating the meat and just enjoy the burger. Sonic, on the other hand, I rarely eat more than I need to for evaluating it. One of the reasons being the smell of the tots puts me off the food before I've even tasted it.
For a burger, you just need to take a bite so you know if it's hot and fresh, but you need to crack open the center to see if it's well done at 5Guys. I'm disappointed to hear that someone would not take a bite at all and just give it to someone else and report that person's perception. That's grounds for your contract with the company, not just that client's shops, to be cancelled and for a lawsuit to be filed for breach of contract, OBVIOUSLY!

I love, and need, this type of work. It's terrible to me that this industry would become aware that this kind of thing is happening (as McDonald's did, dumbarses) and decide the program is such a clusterf=ck enough to cancel it all together! Damnit damnit damnit to h#ll.

edited to add: i've been supporting your, and others', in-depth and sometimes elementary questions because I have them too. I know that, when I thoroughly understand a concept, I can complete assignments more thoroughly and much faster and that increases my revenue and decreases my output efforts, further increasing my revenue and joy in the task. However, the further, in this case, that you 'explained' your query the more I began to understand that either you don't have your moral wits about you or this is a device to call to arms ways of beating the system. Either way, I won't be supporting your efforts.
