What are you having for dinner? AGAIN!

I cooked a ham the other day for the first time in the slow cooker. Boy, was it good!

I have a small chuck roast in the slow cooker, making its own mushroom gravy. Will have that with mashed potato and steamed fresh carrots.

I picked up some General Tso's chicken at a great local place. I have made a batch of yellow rice and steamed some fresh broccoli and will end up with several great meals. (I did not want any of the plain white rice that was offered with the chicken. Folks at the restaurant probably thought I was nuts!)

I'm sitting here enjoying a bowl of spicy homemade chili and a slice of San Francisco sourdough bread. The brand, not the city. I want to learn how to make sourdough that tastes this good!
leftover white rice is always great to use with other dishes. i always take it and use it up in a few days to make fried rice, or chicken rice soup, etc.

San Francisco french bread is so good due to the water, nothing like it...but, LaBrea french bread is a close second.

Spinach pasta, mushrooms, ground turkey and a good cheese melted in.

Leftovers from yesterday's lunch: beef enchiladas and beans. Will add guacamole and chips. There will still be enough left over for one more dinner later in the week. (EOQ craziness requires accumulating such easy meals. Dash In quesadillas will also figure prominently in meal planning, lol. They freeze well for later warm-up.)

Before leaving the house, I seared 2 lamb shanks and set them to simmer in broth and herbs. Will have shredded lamb on yellow rice, topped with crumbled feta and chopped Greek olives and a side of steamed fresh broccoli. A little red wine sounds like a happy idea with this. And, there will be "planned overs" !

I don't usually do this, but tonight I'm getting a Roast Beef Sub with everything on it, oil, spices.
Using up apples and pears. Will make something oozy, spicy/pungent, spoon it on the last of the leftovers, and call it good. Tomorrow is for the first day of the turkey schtick...

Tonight's dinner (for four) includes left over buffalo chicken, left over ham, left over potato salad, left over fruit salad, left over veggie tray and left over pie. Do you notice a theme? I made a bunch of easy stuff yesterday morning so that I wouldn't need to cook for the next couple days.
