Schedulers! Storm Alert! New England and Mid-Atlantic

From Washington, DC north, 10 or more inches of snow and/or icy mix starting tonight and into Wednesday and longer, farther north.

Even if DC and most of MD only get an icy mix, roads will be very hazardous. State and local governments are likely to ask drivers to stay off the roads.

Please accommodate all shoppers who will need to reschedule! Shoppers, stay safe!

I'm getting pelted here with sleet & snow in KY & VA. I have a new set of Michelin Latitude Tours on the car that I had put on this week so I'm hopeful they will do the trick for the one shop I have tomorrow grinning smiley But I do agree, the snow is a coming! It won't be as bad for me as the northern people, but on occasion we get 2-3 feet. Winter weather advisor already has been issued. The forecast is showing snow until Thursday :/

Gotta love our local weather gurus on this occasion. They predicted snow to start at 7 PM. I watched snow start falling on my deck at 6:57 PM! At 10 AM my local street is impassable.

The problem here is seldom deep snow; it is the freezing and thawing and refreezing on the roads that is the main hazard. So schools are closed. My policy is that if schools are closed in my county or in any of the areas where I would have to drive, I am off duty for the day. I grew up driving in this sort of weather and worse (Wisconsin) but most drivers here have no notion of how to be safe in these conditions. I just want to be out of their way!

Be safe today ! It ain't worth driving in hazardous conditions for a shop.

I had a set of Michelins I bought years ago, got 90,000 miles out of them and the treads still looked new.
