Possible Scam

I received an email from Jessica Miller(sarahbrave112@gmail.com) It was an invitation to preform a shop for The Premier Shop, Inc. I don't know how they got my email address. They want me to shop a A Wells Fargo and Bank America office. I haven't received the instructions yet but I was to confirm that I wanted to do the shops, which I confirmed "I was Ready" in a reply email.
Now, here is why I think it is a scam: They are supposed to send me a check for $2980 to use for this shop. I did not receive any instructions as to what I am supposed to do with this check, but I assume they want me to cash it somehow.
If they want me to cash this check at one of the branches, fine. I'll know it is a scam if they want me to send them any money.
If I am supposed to deposit the check in a new account, great. I am waiting for the next correspondence with these people and will post them.

Scam, Scam, scam! A large check to "fund" a shop is always a SCAM.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
RUN FAR AWAY. In fact, block these people right now. Any company sending you money before a shop is likely a scam unless it's small gift cards to distribute on your shop or a purchase card for items, etc. These check cashing scams have been around for years and they keep trying to come up with new ways to scam you. Just write back and tell them you'll be forwarding their scam email and scam check to the local authorities and that should get rid of the emails from that particular scammer.

I used to work for a bank ages ago. Do not ever, place that kind of check into a new account. I assume that they want you to open a new account? It will bounce and that you will be charged for the insufficient fees and the amount the check was written for. If ever you are in doubt about the amount of the check, you should verify with the bank it was issued from to see if the check is good and cash it from the issuing bank. Do you want to fund a check for $2980 that bounced on you?
People really consider this as possibly being real (shakes head). You're just playing, right?
You sound bright, so listen to your head and do not deposit check...you will owe the money, and please no one sends us money before doing the job....thousands of dollars for a 15.00 job.....can't believe people are still falling for this....SCAM.com
