I got very sick of the slow laptop/notebook so I returned it ....went to Best Buy and paid $449 for a new HP 17.3" screen with windows 10 and many other features I haven't figured out yet!! Cortana is with me. lol
This machine is gorgeous...light to carry, easy to see the screen with beautiful colors. This is the best!!!!!!!!
Well, i just got a new toy at BB on Sunday after a shop--a whole house router. I did not know such a thing existed. OMG, what a difference it makes. About 30' of cable and wires are gone! Wireless access (5 bars) is available in every room, and I can print wirelessly again from any room. Yay!
Airplane mode turns your device into a bulky watch It cuts off all cellular, text, and data connections. People usually use it on flights or on car rides. You can turn your wi-fi back on after you're in airplane mode, and you can still play most of your app games and such. Some devices will still let you Bluetooth, too when it's on. I rarely fly, but I do have a drive mode where my phone will auto reply to texts to tell people that I am traveling at a speed of over 25 MPH and driving.
I haven't used airplane mode with my laptop yet, but it is invaluable with a smart phone. If you are using your phone to record, airplane mode will prevent any phone calls, texts, emails, etc. from coming through and disrupting the recording. For video shopping I find it much simpler than turning the phone completely off then waiting for it to reboot after my shop.
Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.
Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Airplane mode is while you are on an airplane, connects to their wireless.
Wrong airplane mode means that the device will not emit any signals at all so as not to interfere with the electronics of the plane.
Which is a big crock of donkey dung. If the electronics on the plane were that easy to interfere with then someone could easily cause a plane malfunction. The ACTUAL reason is a bit harder to explain and way more boring.
When you are on a plane way up in the sky, the cell tower is way way way away from you. Let's say you have 200 phones on this plane amongst all the passengers. They all are boosting their power to try to reach that tower way way way below. With 200 phones BARELY pinging the single tower the tower goes OMG THERE ARE PHONES THAT NEED ME! And it boosts power in that direction. Well it only has soooo much power so if it's boosts it straight up, where the plane is, it has to take power from the horizontal directions. Meaning people on the ground have to be closer to the tower to get a clear signal. So that's the REAL reason they don't want all the phones on the plane turned on.
Also if you don't put it on airplane mode your phone will boost power trying to find a signal for the whole flight and be dead when you arrive at your destination.
Also also people who talk on phones on planes are jerkfaces and rude. Almost as rude as people who bring meals on planes. Because you know what, your salad stinks and is messy and it's not like I can walk away from it.
Talking tough is easy when it's other people's evil and you're judging what they do and don't believe.
About six years ago, I managed to put my PC into airplane mode when I finally reached my breaking point after three years of fighting daily with Windows Vista. Back in those days, however, airplane mode only lasted 1.13 seconds when initiated from a third story window, after which a Vista operated PC would enter recycle mode.
I just got a new toy, phone (Android) which blocks, skypes and does more than i need, so, maybe i'll grow into it, keys are larger, easier to work.....airplane mode is needed for flying, always needs to be turned off. Great to see my daughter when we speak now, but she got into the habit of texting ..
I merely took the energy it takes to pout and wrote some blues.....
That is great! Tax write off, too, in most cases. There are shops where you can go learn all about what the new features are and how they all work. I was amazed at the presentation and went right home and tried new stuff that I didn't realize even existed. I am still learning.
Great price, too!
