Best Buffalo Wings? (Not a mystery shopping question...)

BWW
Applebee's
Wingstop

or somewhere else?

Who has the best? smiling smiley

Applebee's has all-you-can-eat wing day (I think it's boneless, though). BWW has 50% off Tuesdays (traditional) and Thursdays (boneless). What flavors do you guys like?

I'm not big on chain restaurants. There's a lot of good restaurants in my home city that have better wings/food than these mega chains.

That said, when I ate chicken, I'd go to hooters. Their wings were pretty good. I think Wednesday's were 50 cent irrc.

Wingstop is my favorite in terms of quality and taste. BWW has a lot of different flavors which is nice, and their potato wedges (not fries) are delicious.

Used to do shops for Wingstop but I haven't seen them in a really long time sad smiley
B-Dubs is my fav for wings. I love their garlic parmesan. I made the mistake of ordering garlic parmesan wings at Wingstop and they were swimming in a pool of butter and oil and not good. I do like Wingstop's lemon pepper dry rub though. We have a place here called Buffalo Wings and Rings. It's not good.
None of the above. An independently owned, hole in the wall joint, makes the best. Your choice of flavor. Charred or wet. Accompanied by cold, crisp, fresh, clean celery and carrot sticks. And, blue cheese dressing that I want to eat with a spoon.

I haven't been to a Hooters in years, but I have to agree that they have good wings. The best imo.
Doing a Wings shop in a week, like you can order whatever you like, and reimbursement covers it. Haven't tried any others, not my favorite food group, it's a now and then thing.

These are my favorite wings. I make them on the grill instead of the oven to render all the fat and get the skin nice and crispy. Excellent with a spinach salad with oranges, candied pecans and a simple dressing of Trader Joe's Orange Muscat Champagne Vinegar and sesame oilsmiling smiley

I got a very good wing recipe from a magazine earlier in the year. They had a basic wing recipe and then like 10 different sauce recipes ranging from one made of parm and pesto (YUM!) to mango chutney and ginger (YUMYUM) to strawberry jelly and something (GROSS!). I think I made all of them and kept about 4.

Now that I think about it perhaps it was Mango Chutney and Curry. Hrm.....

There is a regional chain called The Green Turtle. On Tuesdays, their appetizers are half off. I have two shops, different locations, this month so I'm giving the wings a shot!

At my last shop, dude sitting next to me raved about the wings.

Ah yes. The 5 sauce recipes I kept:

Teriyaki Ginger - 1C teriyaki sauce (thickest you can find) a 1 tsp fresh grated ginger - top with sesame seeds
Greek To Me - 1C Honey and 1/4C Lemon Juice
Pomegranate Coriander - 1C Pomegranate Molasses 1 Tablespoon of Coriander and 1 Tablespoon of sugar
Peppery Pesto - 1C Pesto 1/4C fresh grated Parm
Cury Chutney - 1C Mango Chutney 1 teaspoon Curry top with chopped Cilantro

I Have yet to make the Pomegranate one because I have yet to find Pomegranate Molasses. The rest are all spectacular.

Actually you can make your own pomegranate molasses by reducing juice with some sugar.

Hrm interestesting. When I get home next decade I might look into that.

Smokey Bones, I have heard is the latest go-to place for great wings. I just got some coupons in the mail so I will report back!
Lisa, I tried making pomegranate molasses from scratch. It takes a lot of practice. I ended up buying a bottle just to use two tablespoons.

I didn't try to reduce mine to the consistency of molasses, just to the syrup stage for topping cheesecake. I didn't find it difficult at all. Like anything involving sugar, it does have to be watched closely or it could easily burn.

That's not to say I wouldn't buy it if there was a source nearbysmiling smiley

I did the shop today. The wings were rubbery, like they were microwaved, and the buffalo parmesan garlic sauce had no flavor.

Pomegranate juice can be reduced and mixed with a little balsamic to produce a result similar to molasses. I cannot wait to try this!
I'll add my vote for Hooters wings. I do miss their shops as I either keep missing them on the job board or they have stopped being shopped.
