Squat 225 lbs for 6 reps.

Dave, you are right, and I think I did say carbs like a danish is the devil (that's what I meant) I know all too well sugar causes many diseases, diabetic kids used to be nill, now the norm. When low fat took hold, sugar was added to everything. I read all sugar content and keep it low. I do eat fruits and get natural sugar.. studied nutrition on my own when my numbers got high, and are now normal due to a major change in diet.
Breakfast: Oatmeal, blueberries, walnuts. Lunch salad tons of veggies or half a sandwich and homemade soup. Dinner protein, chicken, ground turkey, Salmon, veggies and sweet potato...on a good day......cheating is on the plan with good foods.......

The older I get the easier it is to gain weight and harder to lose. However, over the last six months by sticking to a whole foods, clean eating diet I've lost ten pounds. I had to buy new jeans, of a size I hadn't seen since the early 1980s. After last weekend's binge they didn't fit, but I'm confident I will be able to wear them again by tomorrow.

@KathyG...talking about weight gain, i can easily weigh 2pds. more if i go over 1200 calories a day, or eat the bad carbs like a Danish...that's all it takes. Fluid retention is weight gain in my world. My way of losing it is to eat my big meal for a late lunch (2ish), and a really light snack later....a girl's gotta stay in her size 8's and it's getting tougher. Carbs are the devil in disguise...

DavePi, are you on BodyBuilding.com? It's a great resource.

rofl taco, the hardest part is getting started.

When I was a gym rat, I would take a week off every 6-8 weeks for active recovery. Sometimes, that week turned into a month.

I need to get back into exercising. The thing is that when you get in a routine, it's easy to keep up with it. Once I break the routine, I just can't seem to find time to get it into my schedule.

I was scrolling through the first page and saw your first line. I had to go back and search for your post.

What's inversion in a running context?

I am more concerned with inversion than I am with pronation. I have sprained my ankles several times over the years and I am very cautious about where I run. Interestingly, each time I sprained my ankles it was while walking.

Rolling your ankle.

Yea. I go on the forums and learn a lot from there. Made a forum account and got banned from there after 1 day. sad smiley Their loss smiling smiley

What happened?

Like I said, I was walking. Weak ankles, I guess. Was swollen and black n blue each time, couldn't walk without crutches for over a week. Hasn't happened again in the past 20 years, knock on wood. It's better to break an ankle than it is to sprain.
The "What happened" was for DavePi. I want to know how he got banned from a forum.

Did you do anything to strengthen your ankles?

Keep up the good work!

I mainly focus my workouts around the core lifts (deadlifts, squats, bench, pull-ups), as I'm limited on time.

In the great words of the legendary Mark Rippetoe:

"Strong people are harder to kill than weak people, and more useful in general."

In my neck of the woods, I recently completed building my home gym! Im undergoing construction in finishing my basement with a small section of it dedicated to workouts. I've had my squat rack, bench and set of Olympic weights for years, but recently upgrade my collection with more Olympic barbells (curl bars and an extra 45 lb bar) and those wonderful 90 lb powerblocks (great deal from someone on Craigslist!) and the 52.5 lb Bowflex adjustable dumbbells.
