Use caller ID to ignore the calls or block her. A smart phone usually has a way to block callers in the general settings. Going forward my suggestion would be to have any items for the sale in the garage and not allow anyone inside your home.

Tell her you'll sell it for a ridiculous amount like $10,000, and that the price isn't negotiable!

Hey, maybe she is willing to pay $10,000, you should say $20,000. Have her bring the price down.
Maybe one of the strong men in the group will bring that armoire down to the garage.[/quote

I was mentioning this to the spouse and he commented you should keep the person's details in case anything untoward happens regarding the painting. He also suggested having a couple of strongmen move the armoire down to the garage

Ugh. Craig's list is scary! You neighborhood thing with security sounds way safer.

I don't understand about the armoire. Are you saying that because you cannot move it you will be unable to sell it? Are you saying that you will not sell it at all/have decided not to sell? If so, here is an idea. Can the armoire be taken downstairs in pieces and reconstructed? Some charities will pick up donated furniture-- if their employees can move it safely.

Now I'm just being nosy...why would you pay to have a security patrol go past your house every two hours if you live in an excellent area?

Irene - If you are interested in a tax write-off, you could call Goodwill and ask if they'll go upstairs and take it. You could also call around to legitimate local churches or charities to see if they'll do the same. I've done that before and they come inside, disassemble and do all the work. I've done this many times.

I did block her, seem to have stopped. I also had a bedroom Armoire for sale, and it was upstairs. I have no way of moving it....guess I won't sell it.
