What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Granny time vacation continues. It's DIL's last day at work before babies come (she's scheduled to be induced next Wednesday). I helped Son take Grandson to day care, and have the rest of the day to myself. My plan is to go to the local mall and walk around. Pop into stores that interest ME. Grab lunch at some place that interests ME.

I have not yet done anything that wasn't shopping. I have high hopes for a nap later on.
No shopping today. Helping my husband plant tomatoes. Library art class tonight, pastels.
Saturday was a full day of shops. Sunday included laundry, playing with the dogs, paperwork, grilling supper, watering plants, and Netflix binging with my sis.
I have my book club in a hour. I did not read much of the book at All . It was Fire IN Beulah by Rilla Askew. It was to drew out with too much descaprtion for my liking. As the song says a little less talk and a lot more action was needed.
It rained today. My outside plants, especially the tomatoes, were very thirsty.

Tomorrow is a mani-pedi, which I desperately need. After, I'm going to do my first shop with Observa.

Last week, I went to a group dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. I discovered the dirty vodka martini...oh my!

Oh I have been loving dirty vodka martinis for the longest time. Extra olives, please!

Getting a pedicure tomorrow!
I prefer a dirty gin martini, just like my Daddy did. When I bartended at the last place I was, they always used to joke that I was the only one who knew how to make one right. It was probably because I loved them so much and made them how I like them...dirty, bordering on filthy! Try one with a stuffed olive and it will be your fave drink in no time.

Well, I guess tomorrow I'll "have" to try a dirty Martini since both honny@Jas recommend them....and tomorrow it's a Mani/Pedi for sure. Today painter came, what a difference. Went to Dr; and got a referral for a second opinion on eye problem, Appt. probably 2 weeks, but excited to go. Taking care of business..Looking for fun, where are you?

Irene, only if you LOVE green olives. I mean LOVE them.
I love all olives, especially green ones...could make a dinner out of them.

When I bartended, I had to keep the olives behind the counter instead of the service bar because I'd fill it up, maybe make one or two drinks requiring them and all of a sudden it would be completely empty at the end of my shift.
Olives are my favorite thing. When I was younger at holidays, there was an olive and a relish tray and I was never allowed to sit by either because no one else would get them. The olive bar at the Italian store by me has 24 kinds of olives!!!

I have a hardware shop tomorrow. The store has a coctail shaker that will be covered by my reimbursement.

How do I make a dry, dirty vodka martini? I have the Sveda, dry vermouth, and olive juice.

I also have bloody mary mix :-).

At home, I always just make it with the gin/vodka and the olive juice, but when I made it at work, I always ask if they want just olive juice or that and vermouth. I would start out with 2.5 shots of vodks/gin, .5 shot olive juice and a splash of dry vermouth. Sometimes I put the vermouth in with the ice and water/club soda to chill the glass and then dump it. Some people like it really dirty, like me, and will want more olive juice. It's a lot easier to add that than more vodka/gin to make it less "olivey". If you want a really good bloody, muddle some olives in the bottom of the glass before you add the rest of the ingredients and since you're in the region you are, rim the glass with some lemon or lime and dip it in some Old Bay. Yum. Now I'm thirsty.

It is raining so much that fishing is postponed indefinitely. It's okay. There is plenty to do at home! I also added a shop, which disrupted my hiatus. But that was okay, too. The activities for the shop provided a little time away from a book that I am enjoying. This historical fiction is applicable today. Think it would be a good movie or play because it grabs the reader at the gut level, which is where beliefs-based conflicts originate, or reside, or resonate, or something.....

Thank you!

I am really looking forward to getting my shaker tomorrow!

Interviewing a prospective new housemate for the basement apartment late this afternoon.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Starting another book. Listening to 'Stress-Free' CD. Working out (will this be gently or briskly? Hmm.....)

Lab work, cup of coffee out, home for Photographer, pictures of house preparing for open house in a week,
Straightening, tidying, and making things look pretty. No cooking, so, later out for a bite.

The hardware store did not have the cocktail shaker that I wanted. I had to order it online and pick it up in the store. That was apparent when the website stated "available for store pick up."

The family plan was for me to arrive a week before DIL delivers her twin boys, just in case she went into labor early. That hasn't happened yet, so I've had lots of (wonderful!) free time. Today I picked up a pizza shop within walking distance of Son's house. It feels so strange to be shopping in a new area.

Bummer, but that's awesome that you could order it! You'll be whipping up cocktails in no time.

I've got my bone density (DEXA) scan this afternoon...I'll see how much more damage this Arimidex has done on my ol' bones! Glad the 5 years of Arimidex are up this month!
I'm working on an Ellis report today. (Is that shopping?) They take me a long time (4-6 hours) because I'm still a noob at apartments. I have to Google terms they use like "closing techniques" and "qualifying questions". Am I the only one who didn't already know this stuff?
Going out later to the library and grocery store to get salad ingredients. A quick cell phone shop and that will round out my day.
We started a new series so we'll binge on that and munch salads with lemon chicken tonight.
I work the last day od Kids Club or what older people like me use to call Vacation Bible School.
Had two unexpected 'writing projects', but I finished them. Tomorrow, I will mail the last of the dratted things and- G willing and the creek don't rise- that will be the welcome end of that. ! But the bat-crap crazy topic led from one thing to another to another until I reached what I really wanted to ask: in all of this nuttiness is there any indication or inkling that anyone was/is being neglected, mistreated, abused, shamed, taunted, twitted, teased, jerked around, robbed, mind-gamed, guilted, misinformed, misled, misrepresented, or otherwise harmed? I still don't know, but I feel infinitely better because I followed the uneasiness to the foundational questions. *sigh*

Going to do a sweet, little workout now.

I went to a Goodwill near my shops and picked up cute martini glasses and a shaker. I'm happy I got them for less than $3 because my martinis are horrid.
