What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

Started the day by taking baby girl to urgent care but she is okay now. So tired after that... A little summer school prep. I remembered my coupon for 15% off from Ollies expired today so I had to go there and get my Dad's birthday and father's day gifts. Picked up some Chinese food for dinner.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly on tomorrow for the first day of summer school.

Little road trip. More time enjoying the views than doing anything else. This is the point of going!

PTO today. I was so happy to be home alone. Cleaned like a fiend, took a 1.5 hour nap. I should have done laundry but didn't.
For giggles, I timed how long it took for my thyroid meds to dissolve under my tongue. Hmm.The rest of the day is all about the basic house tasks, finishing a book, doing one more load of laundry, and rejoicing because it is summer/dresses/skirts and not winter/longjohns/pants. It is hard enough to deal with staph in a dress. I would not want the extra hassle of scraping layers of clothes over the already challenged skin. On the prettier side of the street, I might plant flower seeds soon. I always wait because of late season snows here. Now, it should be just right to plant and wait... smiling smiley

Made no sugar rainbow popsicles, cooked and did a few DIY organizing projects. The rest of the day will be math and reading with DD. The heat outside is unbearable.
Second day of record-setting heat. I've moved my steps inside-today was a big box hardware store before chiropractor appointment, then a mall later in the day (where I also picked up some freebies from The Body Shop).

Beautiful day. Worked, ironed, puttered in the garden and admired everything. DH wrapping up another school year and home early. He joins the ladies for roller blading in the park after dinner. Decides to show off and do one of his jumping, turning and skating backwards tricks. Not happening. His left bottom arm has a long, bloody, nasty, gross scrape as well as his shoulder. Not wearing protective gear because he's invincible. Ladies had to escort him home. I cleaned him up after I yelled at him. SMH.
Yikes Madetoshop!

Holding up the couch all morning. Time to do a thing or two, then dress warmly for last walk with my friend.
In a couple days, she is heading out on a 3,000 km bicycle trek.
Madetoshop hee heee!

All Hands meeting for work tomorrow. This will be interesting. I usually take a nap at lunch.

My AC is still wonky. The fiddle leaf fern took the brunt of the heat. It's recovering outside now.

Our cat had his normal afternoon hairball (all liquid, which isn't abnormal), but then only ate a little lunch and threw it back up. Since then he hasn't moved from his normal spot on the floor in the bedroom. I'm thinking a possible call to the vet tomorrow might be in order.

Up for a little while. This new-to-us dryer handles many thing well. It struggles with towels. Will need to send hubby with wet towels and the last of the quarters from the diy car wash fund to the laundromat. He can dry towels there. The dryer came from the 'free if you want to take a chance on it' area of the parking lot. Hopefully, another, better dryer will show up soon.

Summer school has been busy, busy! I just found out that there is no class on Fridays so that's a big relief.
Productive day cooking wise, Lemon jam, lemonade, veggie balls with gravy, lentil pancakes..needless to say my refrigerator is empty. I've taken that opportunity to clean everything out and lined the fridge with disposable liners made from old packaging material. Might save me some scrubbing in the future. These days, I browse through a lot of youtube videos for organizing, and DIY hacks. Some are just silly but others are plain brilliant.
Costco and Whole Foods in the evening.

Little. Nearly wrecked the bathroom when I upchucked. Poor hubby has to deal with that. I immediately went back to bed. Now, I can barely change laundry, change clothes, and sip my daily water. But I am on the mend.

I so admire all your productivity. ! smiling smiley

Last night at bedtime the cat ate so little we decided to leave his (wet) food out so hopefully he would eat more. There's been a minor problem with ants in the room, but according to Hubby there were thousands this morning when he got up. After some research, we've determined that re-caulking around the toilet might take care of the matter.

Everything else today pales in comparison :-)

s-e-a, sending healing vibes.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
The All Hands meeting was productive and not Death By Power Point. I had a brown sugar bubble tea after our field trip. The bubbles were black licorice.

@SEA, so sorry to hear you are sick. Hope you have a quick recovery! Get lots of rest!!
It's been so hot! At 8:00 PM, we took Feonia on a walk and the weather was nice. There is a storm coming so it was windy and cooler. I love windy weather. Tomorrow there's no work so that's good. My dad's birthday dinner is tomorrow, too.
@Shop-et-al..sending healing hugs your way. Rest, rest, and rest more. Rest is productive too, my mum says!
Thank you. I think the initial problem was magnified by too much medicine. That caused far more trouble than I began with. We changed medications and... it is still too much. I must say that I have found some creative ways to have peaceful times. Listen to the healing scriptures in soaking (whatever that means) on Youtube. Use whatever is on classical radio if it will help to evoke an image, calm the breath, crack a smile, or whatever. Call my blankies my healing hut and stay in there and... heal? So I will accept all healing vibes, good intentions, good wishes, etc. I still need them.

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. I'm sure my general surliness has a lot to do with the fact that nothing is going right for me (I'm having trouble getting cooled off, the atmosphere of a meeting I attended felt cliquish, stupid drivers on the way to and from the meeting). Wish I had time for a nap, or even better a do-over

Half day today gratis as we met a deadline. DH and I dined out casually; Caesar salad and cheese calzones. Took a long walk on the beautiful beach. Wished we could have taken fur baby. Not allowed in restaurants. He doesn't like the water touching him in any way but does love walking on wet sand and smelling the surf. Next time, we will eat at home and take him. He was so sad when we left.
@Shop-et-al, I hope you are feeling better. Sending healthy and healing vibes your way.
Thank you. Finally, we are back to where we should be: dealing with the basic issue. The extra few days of diversion were... well... This is a good thing. We have a beautiful, cool morning. Should we take a wee road trip for hubby? Should we stay at home and do house tasks for me? I like the idea of the road trip on a cool day when it is okay to wear the long dress over the tights and cover everything. On any hot day, I would not budge! We should decide soon. The point is I can do a little something. You all are helping! smiling smiley

Chased neighbour's sheep out of the yard before they got to garden. Now to be productive in the house.
