I want to make sure that everyone on this forum who is at least 62 or will be by August 27 is aware that the cost of the National Park's Senior Pass is going up from $10 to $80 on August 28. You can either get one at a National Park, Monument, or Historic Site that has rangers collecting admission or you can apply on-line. It costs an extra $10 if you do it on-line and you have to upload proof of eligibility. These are lifetime passes so even if you don't have any plans to visit a park in the near future, it would be worthwhile to go ahead and get one.
What's really annoying for my husband and I is that he turns 62 on September 14 and we were led to believe it would probably not happen until at least October 1. I just found out today what the actual date is. Why August 28 was picked is beyond my comprehension.
