I cant find what im looking for!!

Hey, can anyone help me? I have gotten so much appreciated help from all of you so much that I feel crazy asking more questions, but im getting frustrated. I signed up for over 30 companies now and every company I sign up for only has like one shop in my area. Most companies have jobs in Cali, Texas, FL.. etc. Is there any list on here that would point me in the right direction to sign up for companies that are dedicated to my area? I am in the Philly area.

I'm not in Philly, so I don't know which MSCs are shopping your area. That being said, a few MSCs that have shops nationally are Marketforce, Maritz, Bestmark, and Trendsource (aka known as the Source). Also kerep in mind that many MSCs release shops around the beginning of the month.
I do a lot with marketforce and check the app every day for "updated" jobs. lol. Im assuming theres not an overabundance of shoppers in my area because they are constantly calling me asking me to take a job. Which im totally ok with BC they offer more money! hehe. But I am getting SSOOOOOO Sick of burgers! lol. I dont know if I can stomach one more, plus its not good for my health or scale! lol. Bestmark has nothing in my are either. except for oil changes for NOT my car type. Please let me know if im breaking any forum rules by posting all this sad smiley
No, you haven't named any clients so you're good.

You don't have to eat the whole burger, you know. Just enough to comment on the quality, temp, ec.
Have you thought about merchandising? I think that at least one merchandising company has assignments in PA.

The best way to get more shops is the old fashioned way. Sign up with more companies. You can also try Jobslinger, they have a free version.
Presto Maps and Jobslinger will both show you companies that have jobs in your area.

I think thats what im going to have to do is just sign up for more. Day by day, little by little. LOL. so, one more question.. I have never done a revealed audit before and one just popped up for a gas station two minutes from me. It pays a lot! I dont want to accept it just to read the guidelines, then cancel if its something I am not interested in. Is there anyother way I could find out what its like?
Have you used some of the aggregate job boards like [www.jobslinger.com] and [insta.prestomobilesurveys.com]? You can search by geographic area and see which MSCs have shops in your area.
If it pays a lot and it's close, do it. The only way to find out is to do one. I don't do them because all of them area a distance from me and I am not a route shopper. A lot of people like them. From what I understand, it takes time to develop a groove and then becomes much easier. If you do a search on the forum site you can read more about it from those who do them.
Chris, I have tried those and got a little confused. I did see that there are a lot of jobs on those borads, but I was wondering if I accepted one through those websites, am I redirected and asked to aply to be a shopper for the company that is listed? Ugh, does that make sense? lol.. i can rephrase it if not..

I think i will just take that shop and see what its like, there are four in my area, so maybe I will do one today and if I like it, come home and grab the other three. If not, whats the harm, paying for some gas that I need? lol.. no harm in that! I will search the site for some other audits when I am ready.. i think the gas station should be a bit easier for now.
Yes, you need to register with the company that's listed, that's how you find out who has shops in your area, though. There really are no shortcuts or easy ways around this. When I started out 16 years ago, I signed up with 3-4 companies a day and throughout the years when new ones popped up I signed up with them as well.
Most registrations with new companies should only take a few minutes. If your browser is set to auto-fill some of your basic information it will speed things up. Create a simple resume, it doesn't need to be in depth, and a sample narrative. Save both so when one or the other is needed you can either attach them or copy/paste. It doesn't hurt to have a copy of your DL and a business style photo saved as well. All of those things should keep most registrations to under ten minutes so in as little as an hour a day you can add six more companies.

Keep in mind a couple of things as you register with new companies. Many of us have found some never have jobs in our area while some may not have anything for a year or more then suddenly they get a great new client or project. We are in the middle of September right now. September is the last month of the third quarter. Many quarterly assignments should be long gone by now and a lot of monthly shops will have been assigned.

Have you tried ISS the scheduling company for different MSC's. I work for them, they have various jobs.

Yeah good idea from Irene, and that would save you a step with having to sign up with the companies because they do the majority of their reporting on the iSS site (though in my opinion you should sign up on all of the MSCs websites that you can find). I think all you have to do is sign an IC agreement on the iSS website with each company.
