NASA's Cassini

Cassini, NASA's 20 year Saturn study project, ended today with a grand finale. Seven years to get to its destination, and 13 years of sending data back to earth, the mission ended with a loss of signal to earth and a nose dive to the planet.

People worldwide saw this project go from widgets and wires to end of mission. That had to hurt!

A spectacular ending to a spectacular mission. This and New Horizons (it went past Pluto) probably mark the end of the great NASA space missions. We may never see their like again.

What's done is done. An egg cracked cannot be cured.
There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
sassy, why do you say it's the end? That's far from the truth! New Horizons is studying Pluto, the International Space Station is currently doing research, MMS and GPM are studying the Earth's atmosphere, Curiosity is on Mars, Hubble is in space and sending images back daily, JWST is going to launch to deep space next year, and we are preparing to send astronauts to Mars. NASA has hundreds of active missions!
