In other words

I thought a topic about words or phrases people use in place of other words and phrases because they sound nicer might be fun. For example: My grandmother always used to say "oh sugar" instead of "oh sh**". Someone I know who's English told me that in Parliament, no one can say that something is a lie. So instead they say it's a "Terminally logical inexactitude". That's become my new favorite phrase. smiling smiley

Quote from my daughter who has her Master's and license in Psychology, and I laugh every time I think of it
"Get off the pity pot". When young and they didn't want us to know what they were saying, they'd speak in another language, Mother spoke 4 language's....so annoying. Then another I remember I used to say, "Don't give me any sheet".

Like, the S on old people's Supercostumes stands for Superannuatedperson?
