Lets talk coffee....

Being a coffee lover and doing a comparison for months, buying different coffees at different specialty and regular stores, here are my findings. Sprouts with their different flavors, favorite is chocolate Espresso, $9.99pd.
Whole Foods, imported Espresso, 12.99pd. My last Kroger's shop purchase, I picked up a can of Cafe LA LLAVE Espresso $4.99 pd. this one was as good as the others.....tip of the day...how about you,
favorite coffee, please share.
edited to add: I use fresh beans and ground them just before making, and use a French Press, coffee is always fresh tasting.....having a cup right now.

I like my coffee black, just like my metal \m/ Seriously, though. I like dark dirt in a cup, please. Newman Organic and Kicking Horse Organics are both varieties I really enjoy. The Simple Truth brand isn't so bad either when you get it ground up.

Huge fan of pure Kona whatever the roast, same for Blue mountain Jamaican. Sadly, can only afford store brands. Hopefully those have a coupon.

Would love to win the lottery so I could try the $55 per cup of coffee at least once.

We use Costco brand Kirkland Colombian coffee for everyday use. On the weekends we treat ourselves to freshly-ground beans coffee-either Eight O'clock (which I think is a regional brand) or green beans that we roast ourselves in a hot air popcorn popper.

Okay I have to ask. Where do you get green beans? And how do you roast them in a hot air popper?

I second the Kicking Horse brand. Also curious about roasting your own beans... would love to try that sometime.
Oldest Son turned us on to the hobby. Sweet Maria's (https://www.sweetmarias.com/), which is where we got the first beans, has some good resources. Now, we buy beans from Amazon.

I am partial to Dean's Bean's, dark roast beans..I order this online, it's organic, sustainable and fair trade. I grind the beans every morning..
I am a big fan of K-Cups. I like Donut House and Breakfast blends. Tully's and Aldi's make good ones. I picked up an Eight O'Clock coffee box a few days ago, and it was not bold enough. I added a drop of hot sauce to give me the flavor I was looking for.

Works every time!

Illy is the best for espresso, hand's down. Unfortunately I can't afford the stuff so I buy Lavazza Crema e Gusto. For cold brew I use Lavazza Gran Crema decaf. Yes, I know, decaf cold brew is stupid, but it's an afternoon drink for me and that much caffeine will have me up all night. For regular coffee, I actually use a Keurig. The best thing I've found lately was a package of 3 blends from Sam's Club. It was super cheap for a K-Cup and had a Sumatran, Nicaraguan, and Ethiopian. All were good, the Sumatran was excellent. I'm a big fan of the 8 o'clock that apparently is too wimpy for Honny.

I buy Trader's Joes espresso beans, dark roast $4.99 for 13 oz and grind them each time I make a cup. I learned to use filtered water that I filter myself. I only have time for a french press on the weekend. Dark and thick as mud with loads of hazlenut creamer is my favorite. Costco beans compare and so do Sam's club beans when they have them. All fair trade. I use an automatic coffee maker with a timer so it's ready when I get up or else I get grouchy. I LOVE coffee and only fair trade.
Peets Coffee from Costco, brewed with a Jura coffee machine. Used to use a Melitta drip system with fresh ground beans (local) until we agreed to splurge a few years ago. Never looked back.
I'm a big fan of having my coffee hand-grinded & the going through a brewing process that takes 4-5 minutes. The Ethiopian coffee blends are superb. A chain store out of Santa Cruz, CA makes exceptional coffee, and not because I shopped the crap out of them.
Hi Eric.....sorry we missed one another, my nephew lives in Santa Cruz, and they brought me that coffee.
Excellent.....

What are your guys thoughts on instant coffee? I use Nestles tasters choice instant coffee and the quality is pretty good.

Fun fact about the Keurig. The creator of the K-cup system, John Slyvan, has regrets of inventing the single serve system because of the amount of garbage it produces for each cup of coffee.

I drank instant Folgers coffee on a volunteer trip to Oaxaca. The first two days it was the most ungodly of things. Thereafter, since it was the only thing I had, it was awesome. You have to boil the sh!t out of the water and make it scalding hot. It was really ironic that I was drinking that crap, and liking it, sitting under a coffee tree, plant as big as a tree. If you are constipated, give it a try, it will clear that situation up with just 4 ounces. I haven't had any since but I would if the Apocalypse hit.
You ain't had a cup of joe until you try a fresh grind of kopi luwak. A lady in my neighborhood harvests it and helps her feed the local stray cats by selling. I've found it a few times in my local grocery store too.
I did a Neoespresso shop and learned that the pods were recycleable. When you buy the pods from a authorized dealer-like Williams Sonoma, they will give you FED EX envelopes to send in to have them recycled. I don't have a Neoespresso machine, but I got lazy and just brewed the coffee right into my coffee cup by using one of those ceramic things that fit right over your coffee cup with those reusable gold filters. Right now, I'm not drinking much coffee but got addicted to cold brewed green tea. I accidentally learned that while drinking the concentrated cold brewed green tea that my most of the original hair color-brown/black were replacing some of my gray hairs. Yup, my original hair color was growing back in and noticed less gray hairs on my head. Again, I got lazy and did not want to dye my hair monthly. Haven't dyed my hair for over 2 years.
I as well did a Nespresso shop and loved the expensive one that makes the foam, but alas, $250.00 for a coffee machine not in my budget these days. My French Press is $19.00 at Target, and really makes the best coffee.
Today, will try another creamer, flavors are amazing. I drink Green tea, and my hair color hasn't changed....

There are some excellent instant coffees available: Jacobs for example.

Lavazza pods are incredible: they are the in room coffee amenities at Four Season hotels (only stay there on audits, not on my own dime, just to clarify).

I am a tea lover. On rare occasions, I drink instant by Folgers or Nescafe. Last week, I went to Sam's Club and I sampled Caribou. I loved it. There is a coffee grinder at Sam's too. I am thinking of buying one of those cheap coffee makers ($6-$10) Do you guys think it would make good coffee or do I need a good one. I already have a Magic Bullet to do the grinding. Any input?
Irene_L.A., my version of home cold brewed green tea is very concentrated. I used eight green tea bags in a cold brewing pitcher and drank at least two cups per day since I liked how refreshing it was to drink it at the end of my regular work day. It took a couple of months before I noticed the changes in my hair color. The green tea that I used is a particular brand that I normally used for my hot green tea. And the green tea is not made by Lipton. I have a blog website that showed the changes in my hair.
I just went to Trader Joes looking at coffee's and something caught my interest....."Joes Dark Coffee" 100% ARABICA ground coffee. great price at $4.49 on sale for 13 oz. Having my first cup and it's worth a try.
.Catgranny, that is truly amazing. I just drink store bought, but am going to try a more concentrated better brand
(why not).

That's what I said, what I buy, Trader Joe's. And, you can use the can for all sorts of things. I decoupage the can and fill it with the soaps, lotions and lip balm I make and sell it as a package at the flea market-farmers market.

I did hear on the forum, but forgot who said it...great price and not bad, had my 1st.cup this morn. I do prefer to grind beans fresh, but this is a close second.

They have the same in beans. I don't buy the already ground. Take it back and trade it for the beans.
