Elvis, absolutely! I am not capable of winnowing three artists per decade. Beethoven, Chet Atkins, Patsy Cline, Johnny Cash, Mozart, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Louis Armstrong, U2, Willie Nelson, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Bach, Boots Randolph. And, many, many more.
I saw the subject line and thought what a fun and innocuous thread. It certainly spiraled out of control quickly. For the record, I happen to like a lot of rap and classic rock. Current pop, not so much. While not a fan of Kanye, I would prefer to listen to Beyonce over Taylor Swiftsmiling smiley

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Didn't think anything rude could come of a music thread, fun was my goal....too bad it became nasty, I certainly am turned off. Some are just mean spirited. Elvis wasn't that popular in my day, but once I got older I did appreciate him, and saw him in Vegas years ago.

Live consciously....
1960's - Ray Peterson, Everly Brothers, Righteous Brothers, Mama & Papas
1970's - Gary Puckett, Gary & the Playboys., all Motown
1980's - turned to Country music after Urban Cowboy and still enjoy to this day.
1990 - present day
I enjoy all most all types of music. I enjoy rap over heavy metal any day. My fav at the moment is John Legend.

Funny, I now like Johnny Cash a lot but when I was a kid I didn't. Love the Beatles, Three Dog Night, Chicago, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Simon and Garfunkel, Eric Clapton, BB King, Etta James, the Temptations, but I also like Metallica, Queensryche, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Alice in Chains, Toad the Wet Sprockett, then there was Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, Rachmaninoff...I can't limit it to one particular decade because some artists churned out music over decades and much classical music has been enjoyed for centuries. I am not a fan of rap. I try to find something good in every style of music and usually succeed, but I just can't get into rap. I don't knock others for their musical tastes, however.

Forgot to add Nirvana and Foo Fighters.
