This is tough..... But I'll stick with choosing only 3 per decade!

1950's... I can't really define many single artists/groups that I know more than 3-4 songs with... So I'll leave the 50's blank.
1960's... The Beatles, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and the Rolling Stones.
1970's... Eagles, Bee Gees and Rod Stewart.
1980's... Journey, Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson.
1990's.. Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight and Wu-Tang Clan.
2000's... Justin Timberlake, Usher and Ne-Yo.
2010's... The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and Stevie Hoang.

How could I have left these three off??? So much good music in the 70s and 80s. Not so much after that.

I loved Rod Stewart and forgot him, guess three just wasn't enough....Music on the whole has gone down hill, rap isn't music if you grew up with Jazz, George Sherring, Ella, Frank. I still have my 45's from the 60's.

Rap is the meth that Jazz is the finely aged bourbon. Rough to swallow for rap lovers, non-the-less, it is what it is.

I think it's a great analogy. Crap - where the C is silent.

This is my last attempt at fun on the forum....let the younger generation have a take on it.
Getting put down because of age...your showing your lack of maturity and no compassion, but
you have time to grow up. I don't like you, let it be known!!!!

Makes sense. Like Jazz, where the J is silent tongue sticking out smiley

I mean, I did enjoy that Kenny G concert I went to with my mom. That counts, right?

Try to not let it get to you. It does go both ways though with everyone posting in this thread. Criticizing someone’s taste of music is OK because that’s just our opinions. But what’s the point in doing that? It ends up leading to arguing back and forth on what we think about a genre until someone offends another with some words haha, hence why I kept my mouth shut on other genres such as hard rock, metal, country, grunge, etc.

The forum is full of seniors giving excellent information, and it does bother me. I am open to everyone's choice of music which is what should be discussed, not one's age. Saying one isn't into rap what's the big deal. I actually like many types of music, from jazz vocals, blues, soft rock, classical, getting to know country and like it.
Having been married to a man that got a full scholarship to USC for music and having a daughter that took 9 years of classical piano and won many competitions, I feel I know good music, so as for rap....get the picture?
What's age got to do with it??? I agree, the forum is just that, many types, one shouldn't let anything said bother you, but sometimes it does.....taking my toys and going home.

In 1990's Adele was going through wearing diapers and advancing to kindergarten, Kelly Clarkson was going through elementary school to at least junior high. I would imagine if one is enjoying there music in the 1990s. then it is not the same music that became famous in the 2004's. To be psysic is good for the soul.

If you're going to be rude to another poster, at least use spellcheck and Grammarly first.
