Pea protein powder. (WARNING!!!!)

I ordered a bag of anthony's pea protein powder because it was fairly cheap compared to the other whey protein products. But when I made a smoothie out of it, it tasted like one of the most heinous thing I've ever tasted. Has anyone tried this type of protein powder? I only paid $15 for it so it isn't a huge loss, I'm just gonna chuck it in garbage.

I haven't tried it, but we have a store here (Sprouts) that sells different protein powders in small packages, so you can try it, i paid 1.79. I just bought a Vegan powder (I'm not Vegan) to try. I usually use only yogurt, fresh fruit, kale and almond milk, but will try this once. I get a lot of protein so don't really need it. I do think there are ripoffs, buy a medium price one, never the cheapest or most expensive, or just eat black beans.....yum.

I use Ancient Nutrition Bone Broth Protein. It's a powder form and mixes well with anything. I like the vanilla in my coffee. It's delicious. But I also like the apple cinnamon in tea, oatmeal, or warm apple juice. The banana creme is good in almond, coconut, or cashew milk. They have a chocolate that's pretty good too. Those flavors are sweetened with stevia so there is no added sugar, but it's really tasty. The pure or turmeric BBP can be used in soups, rice dishes, or stews. All of them have 20 grams of protein per serving. There are lots of other benefits too, like collagen for skin, glucosamine and chondroitin for joint health, plus calcium, magnesium, balanced electrolytes, amino acids and more. No added salt or preservatives, either.
Actually the pea protein might be good in a soup, maybe try that. You could mix it in with split pea soup and I bet it might actually taste good.
Good idea, I'll keep the bag around and wait till I have a beef stew or some sort of soup to try it.

Guessing you don't like split pea soup, LOL. I am the only one in my family who likes it.
I like it and want some, just changed my cheeseburger shop till tomorrow, now I have no lunch.

I lovelovelove split pea soup. Can pea protein really be a tasty and otherwise appropriate basis for my next batch of split pea soup? (I have seen pea protein near other protein products and can easily obtain some.) Will it be more cost effective than the little dried peas that sizzle and pop on the stove?

I didn't know it came in banana crème. Yum. Will have to try that one.
