Good News thread

I have some good news. I have four almost-free days next week. This means; projects, naps, workouts, and music. In a perfect world, there would be time to read. But that can wait for another week. First, I have to get ready to read. I am eager to prep my porch. It is calling my name... Shopetaaaaallllll... shopetaaaaalllll... it is porch season... you can clean me now.... And I will clean the heck out of it. I plan to spend hours there reading, observing critters, and just being. smiling smiley

Just being. I like that too. I hope you have some great spring weather coming your way for those special moments.
BIRGing, as usual.

My good news for the day is picking up a heavily bonused pizza shop. I rarely do them because they're not generally worth it. Unfortunately I topped it off with a BWW and now feel a little sick to my stomach. Excepting their street tacos, the food is just not good.

Also, Maritz posted their "easy" shops and I took a boatload of them. Road trip.

And that in itself is the good news of the day. I may not like what you have to say, but I respect your right to be wrong ;-).

Anyone following the Count Dankula controversy? In a nutshell, comedian's gf thinks her pug is the most adorable ever so he tries to come up with the foulest thing he can and teaches the pug to do a Nazi salute. Unfunny, absolutely. But a Scottish judge just convicted him based on the judge's interpretation of the joke (not even a complainant), and he's likely going to prison. What's happening over there?

The good news of the day is that I get to choose among several touron activities for my upcoming mini road trip. There is just enough time after work and a scarcely noticeable shop to do something fun. I am visiting a new-to-me city. What to choose, what to choose... smiling smiley

Rain stopped, crispy with sun out....love this weather...8:19 AM feel great, leaving house to meet a couple friends for Saturday coffee and 'maybe' a bit of gossip. Movie at 11:30, "Solita" for late lunch/dinner (not a shop). Play day, ain't retirement grand, throwing troubles to the sand and enjoying the day

I don't think Irene was meaning to be political. I think she is just proud of her family. We don't have to agree with her political views.
My day is great today. I am at my daughter's house taking care of two Chocolate labs that love me. They don't talk back, sit at my side no matter where I sit. I bring them homemade meatballs, that is really why they love me. We didn't get the last storm, today the sun is out, and I feel great!

Thanks for that. It put a smile on my face and in my heart....and a chuckle, too!!
Too funny! So the good news today is for someone (not me). Hair dye now includes graphene, which is meant to tame the frizzies. Perhaps people who are troubled by frizzy hair can now get some relief. This might belong on the beauty thread. ?

My good news is that I'm going to Paris in a few weeks, and as soon as I get back home, my baby sister is coming to visit from out of state. I'm feeling blessed and it's going to be a fantastic month smiling smiley
My good news is that there is sun outside and I'm working in it in the yard. My chickens are following me around, and life is nice.
My good news and I think possibly my 1st “official” post is that you all truly make me feel sane.......or crazier? My motto in life- Be Yourself, Everyone else is taken.

Know what you are doing- And love what you are doing.
It is good that the apparent arson fire at Joshua Tree National Park was contained before it could spread farther and do more damage. Does anyone else love Joshua Tree NP?

I colored my hair and it turned out beautifully, no brassy tones and looks so natural.

I went out to eat with my husband and the inlaws. I got a piece of cracker-encrusted walleye fish that was so big it nearly hung off the edges of my plate, with a side of angel hair pasta drizzled in EVOO, garlic, and parmesan. Lunch today and tomorrow--when they packaged my leftovers it still looked like a full meal!

I'm sorry about the fire but I"m glad they contained it. I've never been to Joshua Tree NP. My husband and sons went there many years ago with Boy Scouts, but I've never been. I'd love to go some day. smiling smiley

I just won a $100 Amazon gift card on a website! I subscribed to it a month ago to download educational material for my 6 year old daughter. I paid $50 for the whole year and a couple of weeks ago, they asked why I loved the website. I guess they liked my answers. The material, games, stories and comprehension lessons are really amazing on the website and save me so much time planning lessons for the day after school. I am so happy!!
Woo Hoo! I took a stand. I put my foot down. I drew a line in the sand. I took back my time. I said it and I mean it. I will not do more than four assignments next month. Instead, I will sleep, read, finish my porch, work out, enjoy music, get some art supplies (love ya, mystery shopping, but you do not offer art supply shops), and generally have some fun. Huzzah! Sing along, if you dare... shop just wants to have fu-un, oh shop just wants to have fun...

I'm looking forward to a nice Easter Dinner with my husband and my parents. I'm making bread and we're bringing the ham. I wish we still had kids around to do an egg hunt, but maybe next time.

Beautiful weather and a gorgeous sunny Easter Sunday! After church, hubby & I went over a friend's house for Easter dinner with them. Their 7 year old nephew was there, and he put out about 50 plastic eggs outside in the front & back yard, for us grown-ups to go out and find....now that was a switch!! It was a fun and relaxing day. Good food and fellowship! And a chance to play young again! ha ha!!
We attempted to go hiking yesterday, but it was still too early for that. There was still too much snow where I wanted to be. There was not enough for skis or a snowmobile. Oh, well. We are going to the boonies for a research project. We will check it out today so that we are well prepared later. We will walk/hike/well, okay, probably just walk a little. This is not the prettiest place, but at least it gets us outside, moving around, and in nature.

I'm going to believe this an an attempt at sarcasm.

Today brings paying bills, finalizing my trip to San Francisco in May to visit my sister (in an assisted living home) with my cousin's, and the good news is, my daughter will try and fly out, she was close to my sister...fingers crossed.

The license plates on my 2002 Honda CR-V expire at the end of the month. Today I took it to the shop for the required safety and emissions. It passed both :-)

I did a phone retail shop for a client on Isecret. I had to order something on the website but the site does not have much to offer. I found a cute teapot for two. I ordered it and one of the tea cup was chipped so they shipped me another free of cost and I got to keep the first order as well. So, I ended up with two teapots (they are really cute) and three good tea cups. Perfect, I say coz we are a family of three!
Mum...my Mother-in-law gave me her collection of bone china teacups and saucers from England, have about 30, very dainty and I have them on display...problem being, my daughters place is more hip and up to date, so I worry about who to leave them to. I've had them for 30 years, and being sentimental, guess I'll have to take them with when i go...smiling smiley

@Irene_L.A....Mom and dad keep dumping their expensive china and cutlery on me for the same reason. My sisters aren't interested in old fashioned things and I am a sucker for those. Mum worries what's going to happen to all of it and I am glad to take it off her hands. Makes everyone happy. Win win..Greedy me!
