Date/Time/Locations: Saturday April 28, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., (see the web link below for collection locations)
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has declared prescription drug abuse an epidemic. In 2016, 42,249 people died from overdoses involving some type of opioid. Proper prescription drug disposal is an effective strategy for potentially preventing prescription drug abuse. Since its inception, the National Prescription Drug “Take-Back” Day program has collected for disposal, 9,015,668 pounds or 4,508 tons of prescription medication. If you have unused medications, join this effort and invite others to dispose of unused prescriptions safely and anonymously. You can find a collection location at: [www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov].
