Teriraia, your usage of the term "side effect" is correct. Ambien may affect your sleep patterns, but racism is not a side effect of taking it.
Affected sleep patterns may, in turn, affect life functioning. This may include impairments in the physical and mental realms. Those impairments may manifest in various direct and indirect ways in individual lives. It is unfortunate that Roseanne mentioned Ambien. Oh, well.
Some of you are still posting that you are continuing to assume that I have defended Roseanne's racist remarks which span some time. I defended her right to express herself. Now, I should add that I will defend everyone's rights to like that or not.

I read the show will go on, producing same show with Darlene (Sarah Gilbert) as the lead, who is one of the producers, to air in the fall....out of sight, out of mind.

The larger issue should never leave our awareness. The larger issue is any/all instances of bias, bigotry, shunning, destruction, disenfranchisement, marginalization, minimalization, and the like. In contrast to the removal of Roseanne Barr, there is a recently recruited pro football player who expressed racist remarks and is in training to work when football season begins in the fall.
Go figure.

Things above will always continue, but what happened to Roseanne is definitely a start, and can't be denied. because other's choose to continue, Rome wasn't built in a day.

To be fair there is a big difference between saying something that someone finds offensive and being a racist. You can accidentally offend someone but you can't accidentally be a racist.
How would one go about proving a negative? What form of proof would you ask for?

ABC is eligible to do what it wants to do. Now is a good time for ABC to examine everyone and every entity that it associates with directly and indirectly. You seem to blame everyone and everything..Ambion, ABC, others, etc., except her accepting her responseibilty for HER words....I couldn't sleep lately, it didn't make me a racist....just the facts, just the facts. Your ramblings don't make sense.

I absolutely do not agree with Roseanne's babble or her racism....however like others have stated she has gotten away with that crap for many years..I'm happy it finally caught up to her and that people are now willing to let it known that it will no longer be tolerated....
Just as an aside; I grew up in a family with very strong,independent women and when you hear news about countries where they are just starting to allow woman to drive; it just breaks my heart...

If you read more into my posts than is there, you might have seen something like what you have described. Perhaps that is what happened.
Anyway, all the networks should find out if they are accepting payments from any source that has any offending connections.

I have not been following this thread but William Barber made an interesting point this weekend: Roseanne loses her job over something (terrible) she said, but all the Republican politicians and judges who've kept people of color from voting are still employed...
