Do you celebrate this? Any interesting stories to tell?

My Dad is awesome. Father's Day is like Christmas, and I got him a drone for Christmas. I'm not sure what I will get him for Father's Day. I usually think of ideas the week before.

When I was a busy shopper, etc., I visited many places that my Dad traveled to many years ago. Most of those places are gone, or not as they were when Dad was there. For some places, it was necessary to imagine the great wildness that was (or look at old pics) because development has spread and given us scarcely distinguishable suburbs. Dad did not travel for suburbs. He wanted to see what remained of the untamed earth and, possibly, get away from all the estrogen in the house. I wonder if I have the same interest in wilderness because of the way he talked about those places. Anyway, I hope that everyone who considers Father's Day will have a great version of that.

My dad passed away many years ago. He built violins from scratch, was a self taught violinist and a oil painter.
Never realized growing up how important music and art was. Dad came from a family of 21, yes 21 and only went to the 8th grade, lived in Canada. He moved to the US for work and met my mother.
My dad passed away when I was in my 30's. Still miss him. I will never forget when he would take all 3 of his daughters fishing off the pier, helping us bait and catch the fish, mostly hardheads and then he would have to get them off and throw them back. Never lost his patience. Great memories.
My Father was the best, and due to smoking passed away when I was 22 (way too young). I miss him and think about him daily. What I wouldn't give to see him again. He was a huge baseball fan, taking me to Golden Gate park, and teaching me how to throw a ball, baseball games with the Giants, long walks to the ocean after his first heat attack when I was 14, then a trip to his favorite bakery for the gooiest cake.. was a regular, he used to say, I'm living the way I want.
I so regret he couldn't have met my daughter, life at times isn't fare. Holidays have become difficult.

Live consciously....
