What do you do when you have too much time on your hands.....

I always have a closet or drawer that needs to be straightened, cleaned out or organized.

I do not have too much time. I am not using my time as I planned to do today. In fact, I should be doing house tasks!. But in response to a recent news blurb about a calm accuser and a roaring defendant, and in response to my irritation at a female who was interviewed on NPR and was promoting the idea of withholding a judicial appointment based upon "no evidence", I searched for song lyrics. Rua! Eddie James' song is so powerful... and if nothing else, this is another perspective. No one (male, female, or other) ever can be served well by permitting an allegation of wrongdoing to serve as the equivalent of an actual finding of guilt. This type of lying, maneuvering, and usurping should not be modeled, taught, or tolerated. Yes. I am admitting that I am intolerant. hehe.

Eddie James Lyrics
"Rua"

Rua (Rua)
Rua (Rua)
A shout of victory over the enemy
Rua (Rua)
Rua (Rua)
Jericho walls are falling
And giants I'm slaying
[x4]

[Chorus:]
I lift the praise (I lift the praise)
I raise it high (I raise it high)
Unto the King (Unto the King)
Who is alive (Who is alive)
He took the keys (He took the keys)
Of Death, Hell, and the Grave (Of Death, Hell, and the Grave)
He rose with all power (He rose with all power)
Through Him I'm saved! (Through Him I'm saved!)

Rua (Rua)
Rua (Rua)
A shout of victory over the enemy
Rua (Rua)
Rua (Rua)
Jericho walls are falling
And giants I'm slaying
[x4]

[Chorus x2]

We lift the King of Glory! (the Lord strong and mighty!)
We lift the King of Glory! (the Lord mighty in battle!)
We lift the King of Glory! (the Lord strong and mighty!)
Rua! (Rua! He's the Conqueror King!)
We lift the King of Glory! (the Lord strong and mighty!)
The Lord strong and mighty (the Lord mighty in battle!)
We lift the King of Glory! (the Lord strong and mighty!)
Rua! (Rua He's the Conqueror King!)

Rua! (Rua!)
Rua! (Rua!)
Rua! (Rua! The devil is defeated!)
[x2]

[Chorus]

Rua! (RUA! THE DEVIL IS DEFEATED!!)

Too much time on my hands always tends to make me eat more, cook, eat, cook, eat.....

Live consciously....
It doesn't feel like I EVER have free time anymore! I used to read 1, 2 or 10 novels a week...now it's been years since I've read one. sad smiley

But, I do have a knee that gives me hiccups every now and then. Had surgery on it and it was a bit of a controversial surgery, so if I over do things, and don't take care of it properly before and after, it swells badly and I get stuck in bed for a day or two. (Once a year-ish)

EVERY TIME that happens, I watch Cassablanca, It Happened One Night, His Girl Friday, Meet Me in St. Louis, GWTW, Breakfast at Tiffanis, Sixteen Candles, Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Top Gun, Pretty In Pink, St Elmo's Fire, and Dirty Dancing smiling smiley smiling smiley smiling smiley
@TroyHawkins,
When I was in college, my boyfriend and I (and sometimes another couple) would always go to a campground/hiking spot/picnic area. We took garbage bags with us and packed home made fried chicken, potato salad and choco chip cookies. We would walk, walk, walk...all day long, in nature. Sometimes drive to a different spot and walk more remote areas. We would pick up trash and aluminum cans.

On the way home, we would cash them in and would end up with a nice chunk of change. We usually ended up with two full garbage bags full of trash and two full garbage bags full of cans. Back in the day (1990's), that $20 would go far. It paid for the gas for the day trip. But best of all, we would always stop at this little local mom and pop restaurant and order blueberry pie a la mode.
That's weird (to me). My husband is out of town working and I eat less and don't cook when he isn't home. I think I have lost 5 pounds in the last week.

Today I colored my hair and cleaned my master bathroom. I am going to vacuum and wait for the service guy for our security system to come do the inspection, then I will go do some audits. It's really boring without my husband being home sad smiley

Hopefully, he will return soon. ?smiling smiley?

I was productive. Fortified by yummy lunch, I tried on new clothes to get my sizes for a specific brand/store and got a few good things in my sizes. When I got home, I got rid of a boatload of stuff that was not working out, for one reason or another. Now that I am certain of sizes, I can shop online (or at thrift) and get what I need in the right sizes for a good enough price.

Forum, news, Barnes@Noble, search for interesting jobs, but then I do that anyway.

Live consciously....
I don't run out of things or people to fill my time. It might be a nice change to have enough time to be bored. Ok, here's one was to piss away a few hours - go to a book store - not a chain BN type a real one. Volunteer at the library.
No volunteering for me, never that bored......would rather work or be bored.

Live consciously....
Making a HUGE pot of tikki masala for hubby's potluck tomorro.
Did the same JITB AGAIN today, burgers still dried out and a mess.

didn't get to the new bed sheets sad smiley
One summer, I did story time at the local library. It was very rewarding.
