I am thinking about trying to brought in some more money into the house. I have looked around and found one direct sale company along the line of Tupperware but it called Clever Contain tors. I as just wondering if any one had hear of it or have seen it wares. I was also wondering if I to begin to do this will get cause any problems getting mystery shopper or merchandising jobs If so it would defeat what I am trying to do . So I was wondering if anyone here on this broad has a home business like Tupperware or the like and if they did , do it cause they any problems with trying to do mystery shopping too? I hope this clears this up a bit
So, you are looking for ideas that have nothing to do with mystery shopping but are other ways of being an independent contractor? This should probably be in the General area.

Things you could do might be sell Avon, sell Tupperware, sell things on ebay, and things like that. Also, have you tried merchandising? There is a section on the forum devoted to merchandising: [www.mysteryshopforum.com]
For me, shopping is the side gig.... Personally, I like things simple, so before I would venture into another side gig, I'd ask myself if I was getting everything out of mystery shopping that I could.... There are some areas that are in dire need of more shoppers, especially folks who do video.... For instance, I returned from a pretty lucrative trip to the San Francisco Bay area a few days ago and, yesterday, I got offered enough shops to almost warrant another visit. (i.e. enough to cover over $1K in expenses and still turn a happy profit.)

There is no issue with mystery shopping and having another unrelated small business. Just be careful selecting the small business you are getting into. There are a lot of scams out there where they ask for money up front to purchase their wares and then you end up not getting them or finding you cannot sell them or some other scam. I have not heard of the company you are speaking of but then I am not familiar with that area. From a mystery shop side you would not be able to take any mystery shop jobs that involve your small business, for instance, if you sell Tupperware and you see a mystery shop involving Tupperware you would not be allowed to do it.
You can ask on "General Chat" about other small businesses opportunities people here might know about.
I am sorry if I put this in the wrong place . I have sold Avon in the past and did not like some of their ways of doing this as a dealer for them. This new company seems to answer my problems with Avon in a good way . But I have never hear of them or seen their stuff so I was wondering if any one else has. I will move my post to a better place for it. Also I believe my questions of how this would be look on from mystery shopping companies has a lot to do with mystery shopping? Also asking if anyone else does so on this broad has to do with shopping too.
MF My main problem with just mystery shopping is I live in an area of the country that I often have to drive 3 hours for a shop , when I do I try to collect more then one shop to do at a time so it pays to do so. I also live in a very small town in that state. Like all this week I have spend time looking at the web site I am sign up with for week. I am founding few jobs and the ones I do found or not ones I can fit into my plans for next work because of a large merchandize job I have to do next week. I would love to be able to do like you do but the jobs are not here to support that . Thanks all you people for your replys to my question. I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say

I frequently do routes that take me three hours from home - that's often where the most money is.... I'm a 12 hour drive from San Francisco, but put together a route that more than covered air fare, a rental car, hotel, food and gas for five days. The key to this was that I do video. Of my 29 total shops, 23 were video....

May I ask which state you are in and what a nearby town might be?

I am in OK and I would said the nearest large city is Whichita , I live on the stateline between OK and Ks. The other big city I shop are OK City and Tulsa. I also shop Stillwater and Enid a lot , they are both what all of people would think of as a small city but still good size for OK.
Alieda, many of my friends have invested money in inventory for multi-level-marketing companies. All but one of them quit after a short time, resulting in a net LOSS because of the unsold products they had. As others have said, do a lot of research to see if a company is for you before signing up.

Happiness is not a goal; it is a by-product. Eleanor Roosevelt
Kathy that is why this company has be wondering , I do not have to buy a lot of inventy from them , I would have no set amount I must sale . I woould not be buying for hostnes gift for the ;lady or guy who gives the party . They pay for them. I would recive a check each week for the commison on my sales which Tuesday. My niece works for a company that operes this week , she has none super. I am looking for one like the one she sales but I did not want to do the sameting as she does because I did not want any bad blood in the family over both trying to get our family and friends to but the same thing from the two of us. I have be told the nearest person to me is four hours away , you does this. But I have never hear of the company or seen it ware except through a catalog .
@Alieda
Do you do apartments? I used "Bartlesville" as a center for a brief search. EPMS has a few apartments nearby, some in Wichita, and quite a few in Tulsa.. I have seen quite a few pleas for video home shops in both Oklahoma and Texas. .... Yes, you are in a bit of a no-man's land regarding cities. However, if you are able to do overnight trips, there is the potential for some pretty good routes into Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and deeper into Oklahoma... And, if you are willing to fly (getting half off airfare with a shop), there might be more opportunities.

I have done a lot of shops for Ellis in the past aand will do some more when they have dates pass this next week . I realy did not have time for anapartment shop plus the merchainze work I have planed for next week. I know if I do a good job on them , there will be more work with them. I do not know about travling futher in or taveling over night . But that is a idea too. How does one go about getting travel assigments . I use to live in Bartleesville infact my son was born there.
Just one comment. You mentioned Wichita. It is a seven hour drive, via I-70, from Wichita, Kansas to Denver, Colorado. It would take longer if you shopped along the way, or looped your assignments in any direction within Colorado. There are lots of shops in Colorado-- but do you have time for a few days worth of shopping in Colorado? If you do, please remember that the mountain towns are relatively isolated and it is a good idea to get bonuses because of the time/distance between places and the smaller number of shops compared to Denver, Colorado Springs, and the stretched out Front Range. Is this something that your schedule would permit?

Shop We are planning to drive in OCtober from Ponca City OK to North Kingstown Rhode Island what is the best way to found shop along the route. I might be able to go to Colorade sometime.
Will you see any of the traditional fall foliage when you are in the east? I have been in eastern places, but I have not mystery shopped there. I would recommend checking this forum for threads about route planning. If you have zip codes or city names, you can search the aggregated job boards for jobs near there. If you are acquainted with any schedulers, you might ask them about routes for their clients during that time frame. Good luck!

I build routes on my own. I have a few MSC's with which I work a lot. When I notice a group of shops in one area that might be a bit of a drive or overnight trip, I check with the scheduler to see if I might be able to pick them all up and if there might be a bit of a bonus available for doing so. (Sometimes a scheduler will contact me.) I then ask for a couple of days to see if I can put other shops with them. Usually, I'll take a look at other MSC's before initially contacting the scheduler, so it's really a matter of making sure that I can get enough other shops assigned. Once I have enough shops assigned, I put together the transportation.

Sometimes, the route is a long drive where I stop periodically for shops. These are difficult for me because I do an awful lot of shops with targets and targets can have days off on the day I'm traveling through. However, they are great if I have a series f shops that are drop-ins with flexible times and dates. My last couple of routes have involved me going to a location, staying at a hotel (with good WiFi!) that is central to them, and making multiple day routes from that location.

If I need to fly, I have been doing the flights as shops. I have not done hotel shops as the ones that I have seen have been enough work that they would undermine my routes. But, perhaps, I just haven't found the right hotel shops.

In any case, it takes a tone of planning and communication to pull them off. But, if you like a little adventure, they are fun. Heck, I just spent five days in San Francisco and returned about $1300 wealthier than when I left. Plus, I had one afternoon to play tourist.

Mf and Shop thank you for all your tips. Yes we will see the colors while we are there. In fact that is the main reason for the trip I was born in Rhode Island in fact in North Kingstown . I have always wanted to show my hubby the colors he was ron in OK and live here until he was ten . Then his family moved to Calfornia. OUr son will be going with us so I not only get to finally show Lannie the colrs but I can show Jeff too. I also plan to see my family that still live back there. My father , mother and us kids are the only ones who move out of state. Lannie is laying out a route I will get the zip codes from him and beging looking. Hoe nice to spend time in San Franciso and get paid to do so

It does, however, help with spelling.
