So much for my quick profitable day!

I had two shops today, both bonused that were easy shops and close to the house. I'm in the middle of the last one and went to get something out of my car and Surprise! I had locked my keys and every thing else I own in the car. I was stranded with no phone, no money, no credit cards. I only had my camera in my hand. I had half the store and just as many "concerned citizens" try to get it unlocked for me. Of course there was no luck. Someone offered to let me use his phone to call my husband to bring me the extra set. He did not answer the phone because he was not familiar with the number I from which I was calling. I ended up having to call a locksmith and pay much more that my earning for the day and the rest of the day ruined.

I am so sorry you went through that! But, you are safe and sound so, the day wasn't all a waste.

Shopping Arkansas, Louisiana, & Mississippi.
Been there. I still feel like an idiot.

Do you have emergency service on your insurance? Towing, out of gas, dead battery, locked car?
My insurance covers stuff like that...but still sucks to be unable to get all your shops done.
Been there, done that! I only locked my keys in the car though, on a gas station audit I had just completed. Had the forms signed and everything. Called AAA, and went back inside and pretended to continue the audit while I waited for them to show up. After that, I had an extra key cut without the FOB, and carry it in my wallet.

My spare is in my glove box. I got it on a shop. It is only for the ignition as my car doesn't have keyed locks.

@LIJake That is exactly what I would have done...IF my phone, insurance card and the contact number for the service had not been locked inside the car with the keys!
@barbage, Thank you for giving us a moment for empathy. I have done something like that and lived to tell the tale. It is disconcerting when it happens, but later it is a perfect thread on the forum. smiling smiley

My key cannot be made, have to go to the dealer and for a mere 50.00 can get a replacement....maybe that's why I've never lost it, or locked it inside. Have another in the house, no sense keeping it in the car if I lock myself out and need it. I agree, I'd be frustrated to the core.

Locked my keys and phone in the car at the car wash and DH also didn’t answer the phone because of a strange number. Plus he wouldn’t let it go to voicemail. Daughter was also unavailable. Then had to search, on the attendants phone, for the Kia Service number. They sent a locksmith, fortunately uncovered by my roadside assistance. Ya, when I got home Home a new rule was implemented. Whenever I’m out of the house answer 'strange number calls or at least let it go to voicemail!'
Ugh, so frustrating! I had a similar experience a few years ago. Glad you at least got in and got home!

Happily shopping the Pacific Northwest. Shopping since 2013 smiling smiley
Good news follow-up
The next week I got an email for a shop for Car Keys Express. I'm meeting the agent today to have a prepaid extra key made that I plan to plant outside the car.
Hooray! Now find a hardware store shop and get reimbursed for a magnetic hide a key box to put on the underside of the car smiling smiley Or you could always go the cheap route and get a really thick zip tie and make that work.
My day cost me $109.00, as my lunch is near Marshall's (a store I love), and I see a Micheal Kor's purse, oh so cute and much needed....so I bought it. Made 8.00 and a lunch, bought the purse + a few small holiday gifts to the total of $132.00 + change. Therapy please!!!!

I use a c-clamp to attach my spare key to the underside of the car where I can easily reach but it can't be seen. I lock myself out way too often not to.
