Songs that put you "in the mood"

So I'm watching the football game, and a commercial comes on with Marvin Gaye's "Let's get it on". I don't even know what the product was they were advertising, but I went upstairs and gave the lady the look, and she shot me down like "I ain't got time for that". LOL. But man, those first few chords on that twangy guitar get me. What's yours?

If I loved you, love wouldn't come in an easy way, round in circles I'd go, longing to hold you but afraid and shy, I let my golden chances pass me by.
I grew up in the 50's/60's listening to great jazz like /Ella, Nina....Jazz and love longs all the way.
San Francisco...Hungry I and tons of jazz clubs, now if my memory doesn't deceive me, let's go!!!!!

Live consciously....

@Irene_L.A.. Carousel. Awesome. I'm curious if the younger members of the forum (I'm 56) have any more "modern" examples.

I saw Etta James in concert once, I also saw Ray Charles and Miles Davis in concert (different shows of course).

People in my generation or Gen Z: Bruno Mar's First Time or my favorite, Jhene Aiko's Bed Peace, depending on the type of girl I'm engaged with at the time.

Whenever I'm messing someone a little older than me, but is still a Millennial: Janet Jackson's Anytime, Any Place.

Haven't messed with anyone my parent's age (Gen X). But if I ever did: maybe some Sade?

As for my grandparent's age, a Baby Boomer, I'd play something more their style like Paul Anka.

@Tarantado, thanks. I'm not familiar, but I will look those up. And BTW, if you got so lucky, don't dismiss the older set. There's something to be said for "experience". smiling smiley And wait, did you just call me old? LOL!

Clapton "Wonderful Tonight"
Chris Isaac "Wicked Game"
Aretha "I never Loved a Man"
Anyone covering "My Funny Valentine"

My parents were hippies and I spent two if my high school years selling vinyl in an actual record store. I could do this for days and love the above suggestions. what a great thread. TY
My personal favorite (not a love song)...The beat goes on....Sonny and Cher days......brings a smile to my face, I'm the oldest member, so, bear with me. Neil Diamond .....anything he sang....

The commercial was for Applebees. I think Wal-Mart started the trend of using Generation X classics in their commercials. I like it.
