A doozy of a winter

I am just done with winter, seems every time I have a nice round of shops scheduled, we get slammed with ice and or snow. 8 inches of snow that knocks me out for at least 2 days. Hopefully now I can fit all the shops I had scheduled into the next 4 days....that is if I can get the dates changed

That happened to me working 4 marketforce they put some assignments back, ade me think they were a little pissed. Lol
We had another blizzard over the weekend and today, I have shops to do.
That's if the tractor starts and we can clear our long driveway to the road. By then, I'm hoping the roads are clear enough to get me through. If not, I'll be asking the MSC to reschedule!
I'm hoping that in 4 weeks, we'll see some relief.
In 2010, I accepted a job working outside on the weekends and have since missed from five to eight days per year. For the winter of 2018/19, I have missed 13, with, assuming the forecast is correct, another coming this Sunday and I still have the remainder of March.
I had a mini-route of 9 shops for last Thursday. Because of ice and snow, could only get to 7 of them. I've been trying to complete the other two ever since then (the schedulers were angels), but now it's snowing again. I just had to e-mail both schedulers and tell them I didn't think I could meet the deadlines.

I just don't drive in snow/on ice!
SCM, LOL you Asshat. It's 22 out here. Today the high was 25 and the winds were about the same, making it a wind chill of 7
I'm watching the "Day after Tomorrow" for about the 20th time. I love all the references to border crossings (Americans trying to get into Mexico) and global warming.

Driving into work this morning, the rains that hit on Valentine's Day are just a distant memory. I think that we got 3" that day.
Well, at least I was in Mexico on the beach during the polar vortex. We were there 2 weeks...perfect timing!

True! It dropped to 50 here during the day and people flipped their lids.
It is Springtime where I live. I know this because of the critters. They are on the move! One of them just looked at me the other day as if to say, "Uh huh. Silly human. I instinctively know when to go where. You need a calendar, and you marvel at me. Bwahaha!"

As for winter and the jobs, weather has impacted the early job a few times. I do few shops, so my ms-ins was only affected once. I re-scheduled a distant shop and lost all efficiency. Oh, well. More important was finding out just how understanding the scheduler was regarding the weather and timing and my little part of the world. Thank you, scheduler! smiling smiley

To be fair, So Cal roads flood with an inch of rain. On top of that, most of our houses here by the beach don't have decent heaters or insulation to deal with the evening temps in the 30's. I had to reschedule one job twice due to flood warnings and flooded freeways. Nothing like what everywhere else is dealing with but at least the people around you know how to drive in the rain.
It snowed here last Friday and we had a low of 29. Today we hit 78 and everyone is in shorts. Spring!
Gorgeous in sunny CA, 64%, sprinkles cleared the air yesterday, no wind, favorite time of year. Still sweater time, was a cold winter...it's over...smiling smiley

Snow and ice are disappearing. I think the ice I fell on was scared &-+_less and fled because I swore and glared and snarled. But seriously. I am ready for pleasant conditions.
