We all know many taking fake names, but how many lie about their age? Stories welcome.
I used to lie about my age, making myself five years younger, as I had my daughter late in life (for the times),
and felt it important to be everyone else's age my have I learned. I am now so proud of being an

I can't wait to spill the beans, who else is either proud or embarrassed of your age?
p.s. I am on the way to being 82, still in full mode and most important take better care of my health than ever and looking for a way to remove a few laugh lines.......wisdom is a good thing.

Seems everyone ask age today, everytime I go to Pharmacy or other places they find you on computer by your Birthdate......never was relevant, it is today, but your lucky if you don't find it important.

I also had my son later in life, at 35. He is my miracle baby, after being told I would likely never be able to get pregnant. But it was one and done! Anyhow, I'm now 66, and have weathered breast cancer and a herniated disk in the past 5 years. But I am still going strong!! I'm retired now, and just enjoy MSing on a part-time basis. I like getting "senior discounts" at various food and retail establishments.

Same as guysmom, had my only child at 35, total miracle baby after trying for years....one and done..haha
Definitely kept me young, and was lucky to have good health, just eye problem and will have operation for vision.
There is something to be said for having a child later, finances and maturity are two and having your life, home and everything in order allows one to give a child security and self esteem. Sometimes we have no control as to what happens, life just happens. I know a phony and surround myself with good people, except for the stalkers on the forum.....

I had my daughter at 30. I am 37 now. As mentioned in a previous thread, ppl keep irritating me with questions about the second one. But with miscarriages and a difficult pregnancy before 30, I am done too. I have never lied about my age though ppl do compliment me that I don't look my age. Maybe coz I am not a very tall person. And I hope, they are not lying!

I haven't lied about my age since before I was 21 and it was obviously to do things I shouldn't have lol. I'm 45 now and I don't care who knows or asks because everyone always thinks I am younger. My parent's genes and my absolute refusal to get a tan have been very kind to me and my boyfriend is 40 but looks in his 20s, so people assume when we are together that we're young (and thankfully not that I'm a cougar HA!). All that being said, age is just a number and it's all about how you feel.
Irene, I hadn't thought much about it, but I never would have guessed that you were 81, but you do always have a wealth of info.

Irene, you have every right to be proud! I hope I am still as energetic by then.

Currently I am mid-40s, and fine with people knowing, but I did used to lie when I was younger. I had my kids early in life (1st @ 18) and didn't want folks knowing I was such a young mom. Now I am a young empty nester, enjoying the freedom to travel.

I look much younger than I am ( I am told this daily, not just being cocky ). My wife is 8 years younger than me, and also looks younger than her actual age. We went out to a bar one day, and to her dismay, the bartender carded me and not her! Luckily for the bartender, I was the one paying and tipping that day LOL!

@Irene_L.A. You must try the egg white and honey mask. It is a great remedy for those laugh lines.

I'm 48. As a guy I could care less if people know my age, and it doesn't bug my wife at all either. I think hiding ones age is becoming a thing of the past.

I was doing a demo at a health food store the other day. A young man who looked to be in his late 20s and worked there asked me out. I told him my oldest son was older than he was and I was sure I was older than his mother. He was shocked when I told him I was 57 and it sure made him back off quickly (maybe he needed glasses). I look young for my age but not THAT young. He wasn't cougar hunting and I am not looking for a boy toy. I have a fine-looking husband who is 6 years younger than I am...I am quite happy.

I am turning 49 on Tuesday May 7th and I am not to thrilled about it. Haha it does beat the alternative though. I used to lie about my age all the time as a teenager to make myself older lol. Now I am honest about it but it hurts haha

My husband is 13 years older than me and people assume we are the same age! He looks good for his age and is a bodybuilder with a year round six pack. He just turned 54.

I had my first three children when I was very young. I don't care who knows my age but sometimes I add a few years because I don't like people to know how young I was when I had my kids. Now I at 48, I have 3 sons in their 30's and my youngest son graduates high school today and enters the Navy next month. I also have my 11th grandbaby on the way. My oldest grandson turned 14 yesterday and starts high school this fall. People always think that one of my sons is my husband. When we go out together, we get this all the time. One day a clerk heard us "bickering" and she said, "Ya'll must have been together for a long time!" My son just looked at her and said, "Yeah, my whole life."
