Several years ago Youngest Son bought a car that he found on Craigslist or Reddit. It took him a week or so to figure out there was a colony of ants living in the trunk. It took him forever to get rid of them. Fortunately they never migrated to the passenger compartment.

No, no "Hmm" at all. So many people carry firearms in their vehicles that in a group the size of this thread, whether shoppers, preachers, teachers or little old ladies, you would reasonably expect at least one.

A cultural thing maybe.

My second car was a used car. I found shell casings under the seats when I was vacuuming it out.

When my son was in high school he had a band. We used our Durango to haul kids and band equipment. One of the venues we played was an old theater and the owners allowed the bands 'to make their mark' inside. We carried spray paint and stencils with the band name. Long after our band days were over, still had the spray paint in the car. HaH in fact it might still be there even though we don't use that car. I was glad I, and my son when he drove, never got pulled over by the police, as we live in a town that's high on the crime/gang scale. It might have been hard to explain.

Nothing special. Shoping bags in the trunk of the car, tissues in the back seat, car info in the glove box,
sunglasses, cell phone holder, pendant on the rear view mirror and some pumpkin seeds in the glove box in case of hunger.
I like a neat and tidy car, so I have hubby to keep it that way...lol

I was going to trade my car in a few months back, so I emptied it out pretty good. I left only the essentials. Fast forward to yesterday: a jacket, a variety of paint samples, napkins, reusable shopping bags, tape measure and safety vest.

The other day, I reached under the seat to find the tape measure. I found a quesadilla. I have no idea how long it has been there.

lots and lots of campaign merch. Bernie signs, stickers, tshirts, and materials to distribute to volunteers.

Work stuff. We cleaned it out today, and it is a pleasure to see, and feel, free space again.

My car is disgustingly dirty due to route shopping and my bad back so I rarely clean it.

Currently, my car only has my shopping gear in it (notebooks, pens, video equipment) and some emergency supplies (lights, first aid kit, etc.). With snow in the forecast next week and the reality that Seattle can totally shut down with a little bit of snow and ice, I am stashing my snowshoeing and cold weather hiking gear/clothing in my trunk - just in case I find myself with a long cold walk home..........

With route shopping season upon me I have a giant shopping bag with extra socks, gloves, and scarf and a hoodie. There is a little trash on the floor but not much, I will pick it up tomorrow. There are also snacks (route shopping again) granola bars and peanuts. Add a case of my favorite tea in case the gas stations don't have it. McDonalds who I normally despise has started offering sugar free iced coffee so now they are my new bff. As long as I don't have to eat there.
