Does Amazon sell anything that is NOT junk?

I have points to use but everything I look for simply doesn't work or is not actually what is stated in the product specs. I read the negative reviews rather than the positive "influencer" reviews and cannot find a product that is functional. Examples from various reviews include: Desk lamp - 1 foot power cord, does not work, worked 1-3 weeks, dim light, faulty switch does not turn on/off. Bed sheets - too small, see-through thin, sold as cotton but received as microfiber, sold as new but arrived with blood stains or ripped. Power inverter - doesn't work, doesn't work, worked a few times then quit.

If I wanted to buy crap that doesn't work I could walk across the street to Dollar General and get some, without shipping cost. Seriously frustrated! Do people actually buy this stuff and just throw it away? They must, Amazon makes money. What is wrong with us (humans as a whole, I mean) that we find this acceptable? Rant over. Read the reviews, filter out the trash. Amazon sells everything, good and bad, you seem to be good at picking the later. I purchase about 100 orders (some with multiple items) a year on Amazon and very rarely am I not satisfied. And when that happens I return the item for a full refund.

You have to keep in mind that feedback is skewed. Buyers are very likely to comment if they are unhappy about a product. As shoppers know, on the other hand, positive feedback can be bought.

I have really good luck with Amazon. Once in awhile I will return something, but it is rare.

I got printer ink and a phone case from Amazon from points also food items (oatmeal in bulk). Amazon sometimes has banging deals to be honest. It is too bad you have yet to experience them...a little research might change your mind.

Amazon is awesome. If you are not happy with an item, they will refund your money - even if the seller is another company. They're like the Nordstrom of online shopping. And you can take a chance on buying what might turn out to be ca-ca, but you can get a refund.

I ordered two First Aid kits. They sent 2 sets of two kits each. I contacted them and they not only returned the purchase price, but told me to keep the merchandise. I will donate two of the kits to a local shelter.

I buy lots of good brand names from them after having shopped around and found no better deals. Just today I ordered two art pieces for the apartment (viewed in person elsewhere and much better price at Amazon), a long handled grabber tool, a small hammer (my kitchen hammer went walk-about). Last week, two known-brand fire extinguishers, a hotel style folding luggage rack, a 5 cup coffee maker (known brand). All excellent quality. They beat Costco prices on Pantene hair products, high end bath scrubs, Swiffer products, breakfast cereals, dried shitake mushrooms, Glad trash bags, and more. Oh, and huge savings on LED bulbs and ceiling fixtures.

I have only one time out of hundreds of transactions on Amazon not gotten what I ordered/thought I ordered. It was returned and my money refunded in about a week. You need to look at the mid level reviews to get the best reviews..they're not influencers or disgruntled people, otherwise they would be 1 star or 5 stars. They're also more likely to explain what exactly is wrong or right with an item and then you can decide for yourself whether that is an issue or not.

-I don't mind Amazon. Have had to return a few items but it is pretty hassle free - eBay on the other hand- don't even get me started.

Last month, for the very first time, Amazon sent me the wrong item. They replaced it and gave me a month to return the incorrect item. I have rarely been disappointed with anything I ordered from Amazon. I have been pleased with the Amazon-branded items, my suspicion is that they want their name to stand for quality. I have been ordering from Amazon for about 20 years and joined Amazon Prime in about 2008.

They have an Amazon-branded pair of slacks that I just love. It is so hard for me to find good fitting pants and these were perfect. I did have to return a pair of sandals last week that were so cheaply made that I would never have worn them, they were not the Amazon brand.

When they do a big event like their Blaack Friday, all of the stuff that has been hard to sell goes to super low prices, with just enough other, highly rated stuff in the discount mix to get people looking at it all. By sticking to brands that you know are reliably high quality, either from your own experience, Consumer Reports ratings or other non-amazon reviews, added to knowing/comparing prices from other sources, one can do very well. Their good customer service when an item fails is also a serious plus.

I buy Sweet Leaf liquid stevia from Amazon because that is best price I have found. I was already familiar with the brand and found them on Amazon. I just bought some Pinzon towels that the jury is still out on. They are soft and wash well, but since I have only had them for about a month I don't know how they will hold up for the long run. They had thousands of reviews and I came across them from an article written comparing towels.

Hope your next purchase will be better. As others have said, they have a really good return policy at least.

Jake, a few years ago, there was a mystery shop for a supplement company. Shoppers were paid to leave a positive review of the product on Amazon.

I bought an item from Amazon in May. It's still in the original packaging so I looked at return options via chat since the return window expired. They did a Return Less Refund, like with wales' first aid kits. They told me to keep the item and they processed the refund.

I took the leap and ordered few few simple things. So far, so good. They're not top-of-the-line, but they're certainly not as bad as some of the reviews stated. Now, we'll just see how long they last. Thank you, all.

I'm glad you found something. You can get high end items as well. Amazon is my "go to" when I want to compare prices. They usually come out ahead.

Kimmie...I buy the good Stevia at .99 along with batteries, never been disappointed, but we happen to have a good store, so, does Amazon beat my price? Never shopped at Amazon,
but never say never.
