Mine is to stop mentally correcting people's grammar when they say things like "less" when they mean "fewer."

I'm still working on it.

I had forgotten about that rule, Threemom. Thanks for the reminder!
I don't think that "mentally" correcting people's grammar is anything that needs correcting, LOL!!!

If you get a tablet get one that has cell service or use the hotspot on your phone if that is allowed.
Continued good health, keep on keeping on and try and overlook the trolls, while keeping my sense of humor.
The forum has become a special place for me, and I feel I made some good friends, thankful for that.
Keep on not being tempted by the "fun" jobs, and proving one can work in this industry throughout the aging process without complaining, always remember the alternative.

Live consciously....

There are two big changes and one theme for me and 2020:

1) I need to stop being the self-appointed police of anything and everything. This does not serve anyone well. It might sweeten me up slightly. This is a resolution.
2) Life dictates that I will spend considerably more time at home and be more of caregiver/less of mystery shopper, auditor, and merchandiser. This is just the way it is.
3) Be more comfortable in my own skin. Shedding some frou frou and a few pots and jars war paint will cause me to cost less and free up space for things I love more than those. As I think about people worldwide, many of them are happy and intelligent even in the absence of strong so-called beauty cultures. They have something great happening inside them. It is beautiful. This is an ongoing project.

Complete a Coyle hotel shop. That's not really a resolution, but a goal. The ultimate Coyle/mystery shopping goal is to go on some of those crazy resort shops, regardless of the MSC. After getting a bit older, I have also had an overall goal of putting forth a more feminine refined elegance, it's been getting there this year. My great aunt was a classy lady and I would love to be more like her.
I wish for forum unity.

I wish people can forgive each other and have peace.

I wish spicy1 (preferably with a new name of "spicytoo" ) can also be re-admitted. She's helped a tremendous amount of people.

Everyone has made mistakes and everyone deserves a second chance.

That's my wish list.

Some people have had 3rd and 4th or even 5th or more chances with nothing much changing. Spicy recreated herself with new screen names and came back to spread more nastiness and discord. Glad she helped you but there is a tremendous amount, or"an overwhelming majority" of us that would disagree with the statement that she "helped a tremendous amount of people".

Peace is a good wish. I once saw a bumper sticker I thought was really funny: "Envision whirled peas".
Wait.I never had a chance to vote on the process of ousting spicy or the number of chances they could receive. Who voted? Who was allowed to vote?

From what I know, the forum owner/mods banned her after several nasty (kind of an understatement) posts and some PMs. This happened multiple times because as JAS said, she came back and signed up under several names. I do not know that there was a vote per se.

My resolution is to find another work at home contract. I quit the last one because I am a senior and thought retirement would be more fun and interesting than it has turned out to be. Frankly, not having a certain amount of work to fill my days is boring. I don't need a lot, just a few hours worth of steady employment several days a week. I'm off to find my fantasy job.

Spicy1 often defended me against horrible attacks.

And, she called out legitimately poor behavior that others would agree was deserving of condemnation too. I sometimes disagreed with how she went about it and wished for a more civil approach. But, if you look at what people did to me on this forum and seemingly never got punished for or warned by the moderators, then I don't think spicy should have been singled out either.

She didn't go looking for trouble against someone who was minding his or her own business. Rather, she responded to poor behavior most of the time.

If Spicy goes, I might go too (in protest). Just give her ONE more chance, at least.

People on this forum have done all sorts of poorly thought out things without ANY moderator punishment as far as I can tell.

I am in favor of a petition to allow spicy back. She is spicy, as the name implies, after all. smiling smiley But, she helped countless posters and often only became spicy when others had done something first (and/or had a history of doing things).

Again, I don't agree with an attacking approach. But, I think there's a difference between a crazy, purely evil type of attacking comment vs. one provoked by a history of antagonism.

LASTLY: Let's all have a chance to reconcile with each other as well. I don't want tension. We've all said things at times that have been hurtful or ill-thought out that we probably regret. If there is a chance for genuine peace and reconciliation, then let us always value that more than legalistic banishment of someone.

Shoptastic, have you ever written a post you didn't edit 1-4 times, or even more? I think you should just delete the whole troll-like post you made above and move on. Why you insist on dredging up unpleasantries just to stir the pot and get people riled up and possibly irritated is beyond me. Annoying.

Spicy is no longer a part of this forum. End of story. That has been the case for I have no idea how long?

Well, she has been banned for quite some time now since she was such a horrible bully. She sent me and others so many vulgar PM messages, not to mention the nasty things she posted so often publicly. You were probably the only person she was ever nice to, who knows why. But if you want to go too, well...okay. I don't think anyone would try to stop you.

This is true. spicy is not the only poster who has cyber-brawled with others. spicy lost the equivalent of an office politics maneuver. I would sign an anti-banning petition.

Ha! I was just telling someone that with your love of being contrary just for the sake of being contrary, you would sign a petition like that. You and all the incarnations of spicy1 under all of her new forum names, and shoptastic of course. That's about it. Good luck with that, LOL.
On the bright or not side, it means that I do not favor banning you, either... winking smiley

The forum is a much nicer place when Spicy's name is not brought up. Can we continue that practice in 2020?
I am sorry, Equine. I think I should probably learn how to toggle or at least ignore instead of letting myself get baited when people feel like trolling the forum. Thank you for the reminder.
