Favorite Pea recipe if you care to share?

Any great Pea presentations like naivasna's.

All forms of Pea welcome.

And lastly, use Pea in a sentence in place of a piece of furniture. Anything goes i.e. My Pea is floral and would look good in my grandmas basement.

Favorite Black Eyed Peas song?
I don't know the name, but it's in my running playlist. I listen to it in the car.

Favorite way to eat peas?
My Mom can make black eyed peas, butter beans and red beans taste great! My favorite way to make them is to go to my parents' house and eat like a fat girl.

Favorite Pea recipe if you care to share?
Since I don't have Mom's recipe, I will share a different one. Pollo Campero has a corn salad that has lentils in it. I tried recreating it on New Years Day when I made my black eyed peas. Epic fail. I will try again.

Not pretty, but in a bowl on top of brown rice with visible bacon.

All forms of Pea welcome.

My peas fit nicely in the kitchen and hold 24 bottles of wine.

I once saw a bumper sticker that read, "Envision whirled peas". I loved that!

I know it sounds gross and I haven't eaten it in about 45 years, but peas with cream of mushroom soup and tuna mixed together and heated, then poured over toast, really tastes good. My mom called it SOS.
Favorite Black Eyed Peas song?
I dunno. I am not familiar with this music.

Favorite way to eat peas?
Plain. They are sweet as is.

Favorite Pea recipe if you care to share?
Blend of vanilla & chocolate flavors of a plant-based protein that contains pea and other proteins, with added coffee/stirred into cold coffee to make an oddball version of a mocha.

No. [One grocery store that used to be shopped sold pea salad. It had peas, red onions, mayo, cheese? and other ingredients which I have forgotten. It looked like all other deli salads-- mounded just so in its bowl behind glass, but anyone could serve it on huge leaf lettuce, add curled carrot, or do something to make it a sight for sore eyes.]

All forms of Pea welcome.
Swee' Pea. It's not just for cartoons anymore. My teddy bear has this nickname, and one of the hubby's customer's dog lets us call her by this nickname when she deigns to come out and greet us with her waggly cute dogginess.. [and now you know why i like the early job so much.]

And lastly, use Pea in a sentence in place of a piece of furniture. Anything goes i.e. My Pea is floral and would look good in my grandmas basement.
My pea has sentimental value, and I want someone in the family to have it after I die. [mil says this to hubby all the time.]

That actually sounds pretty good to me! I'll have to remember that and try it someday soon! I bet it would be good spooned over some egg noodles as well!
Black Eyed Peas, don't really pay attention.
Favorite way to eat peas. #1 Right off the vine, in the garden. 2nd favorite way, in a cream sauce.
Recipe (if you can call it that): Fresh peas, finely diced red onion, shredded carrots and sliced radishes, with a little feta, topped with a very light herb dressing.
SOS...I always thought that was chipped beef in a cream sauce with Worcestershire, on toast.
These pea recipes sound interesting. @Sandy Shopper your salad sounds so good, lots of fresh textures.

Recently when I was sick my neighbor brought me one of those old fashioned tuna noodle casseroles with peas and pearled onions and cream of mushroom soup. It just reminded me so much of my childhood that it was comforting.

I like the cheese and peas salad, but I have to make it myself as the deli ones are disgusting. I use frozen peas, water chestnuts cut into little slivers and a good hard cheddar that I cut myself into tiny cubes. I like to load mine with diced dill pickles and fresh dill, pepper and just before serving mix in a spoonful of mayo. This is one of my favorite things to eat on a hot summer day. It's so refreshing and cold.

And I need to replace my Pea chair.

Aren't sweet peas the prettiest flowers?

Favorite recipe - fresh early peas with freshly made tortellini (either 3 cheese or sausage) in a cream sauce with parmesan and thin slivers of prosciutto.
I am a pea lover, and put them in my pasta with white sauce and lots of cheese, no red sauce over my peas.
I have been know to have a late night snack of a bowl of peas and butter microwaved...yum.
My pea table holding my favorites is a good thing....peas, yes it's all about the peas, sweet peas

Live consciously....
My latest tub of plant-based protein is Cold Brewed Coffee flavor. I use it to make a smoothie with banana, spinach, flax seed, and oatmeal.

What brand is it? Does it mix well? I used to drink whey protein but had to stop because it bothered me.

Kim
Peas by themselves...i saute some garlic in olive oil. Add a can of petite peas. Grind some pepper. Can add mushrooms.

Other ways....peas in a 7 layer salad, peas in tuna noodle casserole, split pea soup, pasta with peas and broccoli and flavored with garlic and parm cheese.

Now I 'm hungry for peas...lol.

Edited to add: My friend's cat is named Sweet Pea.

Risi bisi. I think that's the name of it. Risotto with peas.

Don't know if you were asking Shop-et-al or me, but mine is Vega Protein. I put everything in a blender so have no problems with it mixing in. Otherwise, my kids all use a bottle with a mixer ball in it to combine things that like to clump.

Hi Kathy! I was asking either. I tried Garden of Life and it was gritty. I didn't think it blended well, and I have a Blendtec blender. I have seen Vega Protein at the grocery store so perhaps I will try it. Thanks.

Yeah, whey protein is crap. Good choice for the pea protein!

I only know one Black Eyed Peas song, and it's that one that my kids used to run around the house singing, "Whatcha gonna do with all that junk. All that junk inside your trunk..." not my favorite song by any means, just the only one I know.

I like peas and corn mixed together with butter and salt. I LOVE blackeyed peas with any kind of pork along with some greens and cornbread. When I first moved up here from Florida and my husband's mom invited us over for New Year's, they were serving pork and sauerkraut. I naturally asked where the blackeyed peas were, and they all looked at me like I was from another planet. I explained that it was good luck, and no one had ever heard of that. Pork and sauerkraut, very German traditional thing I guess. I am okay with the pork part, LOL The problem is that they put the sauerkraut OVER the pork when cooking so that flavor permeates the meat. UGH.
I used to make a blackeyed pea dip on new years. Super simple, a can of drained black eyed peas, barely mash a little with a fork. Mix in some finely diced jalapeno, tomato and sour cream. People would slurp it up. Go figure.
YUM! That would make a good (and easy) dish for a Super Bowl party.

A recipe I picked from my mum. Heat some butter, add cumin seeds, coriander powder and turmeric. Saute grated ginger and pureed tomatoes. Let the paste become thick. Add boiled peas, potatoes and salt. Add a cup of water. Bring it to a boil and garnish with cilantro. Goes great with rice.
I pea-ed on the floor.

When I was shelling them a few rolled off the counter.
