What's On Your COVID Quarantine List

Your MD calls and tells you that you have tested positive for COVID. You need to self quarantine until it runs it's course. You have a mild case and are fine in the end. What are the top 3 things you are stockpiling? Me:

Plenty of oranges
Toilet paper (thanks to the Big Lots shops)
PLENTY of wine

greek yogurt, honey, granola and oranges. I stocked up on TP a few days ago when Kroger was having a sale. Spend 40 get 10 off so I spent 40. My wifes list is all chips. Fritos, Cheetos, Lays and Doritos. And I'm the fat one LOL. I won't touch chips.
I did 50 Circle K shops last month and the required purchase was chips, LOL. I gave away most of them, but I kept a few bags. I rarely eat them, too. My husband likes Cheetos so I stocked up on those a few months ago when they were on sale for $1.80 each.
Coffee, long shelf-life milk, makings for soups, makings for one-pot meals, WINE pasta, basmati rice, canned tomato products, canned beans like kidney, black and pinto, carrots, onions, potatoes, frozen veggies, biscuit mixes, refills of all Rxs.

Jasmine tea, piles of magazines and books, Puffs Plus tissues, and several pints of butter pecan ice cream.
Great ideas! I especially love reupping on the prescriptions.

Speaking of the pints of ice cream, I have a milkshake in my freezer that is calling me.

All the above, food for my dog, cats, chickens, reading material, OTC medicine, detergent and other like supplies, and look forward to the extra time. Too many things to list I would love to have the time to do including seedlings for garden, crafts, bread making, naps, and reading.
JAS, this area needs a good ice over to kill all the cooties. My allergies are going haywaire.

Trying to think what I would wish I had.
So far just checked things like coffee, cat food, TP. Haven't bought anything extra., yet.
Pantry and freezer are well stocked. Not sure what to add. Hubby makes wine, there is a room for it.
Out libraries just closed, but I have some books I ordered from Amazon I have not read yet.
Books
Computer with internet
Guitars etc
I love chips and anything Frito-Lay makes. I could never keep them in my stockpile. They would be eaten on the first day.

I have been using the pickup service at the grocery store so I don't have to come in contact with more than one person. When I place my order it has been mostly out of stock, including things like flour, yeast and canned soups. I am ordering a lot of things extra because we don't really know where this is going. So I have 2 extra of large things like coffee and cat food. I'm currently buying 4 extra of things like canned goods. I don't want to buy more than that because other people need stuff too. Luckily i had just bought a large supply of TP and as I use a package I will replace that one package to keep the supply at current levels. I have yet to find any masks or hand sanitizer. I have one purse size one I always keep in my purse because at home I wash my hands constantly anyway. I use it after I pick up groceries or do any errands like banking. Yesterday I was watching people going in and out of the post office, just touching the handle like everything was fine. I have a container of lysol wipes in the car and I used one of those to open the door.
CQ, do you have alcohol and aloe vera on hand? You cam make your own hand sanitizer.

I have always wished that stores had people go clean the door handles every hour or so. I have seen people wiping the glass occasionally but never seen anyone wipe the handles with sanitizing cleaner. Now would be a great time to start.
No I don't. I wish I did but nope. I will just continue with my current method of only using it when I come in contact with someone which is ONLY when I have to run an errand and using my lysol wipes to open doors and pick things up. Luckily I have a lot of those. Ann stocked up at some point in the past because we have 3 HUGE containers.
Just went on line and ordered absentee ballots for the MD primary and the general election.

Passed along to both housemates a site where they can do the same.

If your state does not permit absentee ballot with NO EXCUSES REQUIRED, it may be time to add bugging your state representatives to act on this simple solution to encourage voter turnout.

With all this going on, I was very thankful that we only vote by mail in Washington (with some exceptions for folks for whom this is not feasible.) Our big voting precaution: "Please don't lick the envelopes."

I needed to do some banking before we decide to stay in. I went to my bank yesterday and they had a person opening and closing the doors for customers. He was wearing disposable gloves. They also had a person wiping down counters and terminals, in between customers.

I'm going to the pharmacy today and will get three months of my husband's prescriptions. Even though they're not 90-day eligible, I got approval. Except for perishables, I'm fully stocked at home. Freezers and the pantry are full. Bathrooms and the utility room are stockpiled with supplies. That's always been my normal.
Every time one of my children was a newborn I lysoled all door handles, remotes, light switches, basically anywhere in the house that your hand's touch including the a/c switch, fridge, and microwave, I did it like every single day, or basically frequently. I had kids coming home from school, Dad coming back from work. Anyway, it seemed to work (or so I think) since my babies were all strong and healthy. Of course, I also fed the old-fashioned way to. lol.
I told my wife I'm not raking any more leaves. We might need them for TP. Early indications are that the plan ain't gonna fly.

I'm doing my usual that I would do for hurricane prep, which is coming up soon anyway. Only difference is I'm stocking the freezer, which I would never do in hurricane season.
I shop for produce three times a week, so if I had to be stuck inside for an extended period I'd be screwed :-)

So does Hubby. Maybe even 5 days.
Maybe I will get some frozen fruit/Veggies tomorrow if everything is still normal here.
TP and cleaning supplies are the only shortages I've heard of around here.

My wife and I went out for a short while for a few things today:
* A little more cold medicine. We figured we should have enough on hand for both of us for two weeks.
* Some canned fruit and vegetables. If we get ill, we'll want to have some veggies the fresh produce won't keep and our freezer is full.
* We keep our eyes open for hand sanitizer: and founds some! (Target: seasonal girls' section with sparkly bath stuff).

We even saw toilet paper - our preferred brand. (Bartell Drugs). We left that for somebody else.

Me too. I worry about milk and produce. So far I can get it but who knows when this thing really hits and the supply chains are interrupted.

Have you tried refrigerated super pasteurized milk ? It has a shelf life of over 2 months and tastes nothing like the cartons of long shelf-life milk that are offered for non-refrigerate storage. It tastes like "real" milk !!

Right now I have 3 half-gallons, from Aldi, in my refrigerator. "Best used by May 30, 2020." It is even organic, lol, comes as whole 2%, or skim, and costs less than non-organic, milk at the BIG grocery chains. I will add more to my fridge as I use each carton.
Aldi also delivers through Insta-Cart. First 3 deliveries of $35 or more are free !

My housemates and I will team up to order groceries (We do not share cooking facilities) and this will minimize delivery costs. All of the grocery stores that we use are on Insta-Cart, so even the one that does not use Aldi can participate.

There is no Aldi in my town. There is walmart and kroger and that is it. I checked and they don't have it here unfortunately. It's a great idea to team up to order groceries and minimize the delivery costs. I keep thinking of things I still need and every order I've done a lot of it was out of stock so I am still ordering. My Kroger is so backed up I will have to pick up my order 5 days from now. Delivery is more expensive and I still have to deal with a delivery person so I may as well pick them up. I just interact with one person that way. I went to the bank this morning and there were tons of people there. I just read that this is the most important week to self isolate.
