banned from forum

Hey, fellow Shoppers! What does it take to be banned from this forum? What did Cettie say? (if it's OK to say)? I have tried to always be a "bright spot" when I write. I do appreciate this - lots of good ideas! TY, Night Owl at 5:37 pm

Cettie was a moderator who decided to use her moderator access to view private information about users. She then relayed that information privately to several members for a long time, then accidentally made a public statement as well. She posted someone's location from their IP address. I am not certain but in the ensuing conversation she might have said more, I did not see anything past the post where she gave out the users location.

I am also fairly certain the she was not actually banned. She was stripped of her moderator role and offered a chance to stay, which she declined.

Hello, and thank you! May I ask what kinds of private info she was relaying? Shoppers competing for the same assignments, is what I can think of. Night Owl

Cettie whom I have met in person and am friends with chooses not to participate in the forum. As far as I know she still has an active handle here and can post but again chooses not to. I did not ask nor do I care why she was banned as a moderator and no longer chooses to engage with this forum.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
cease, how do you know that? You always claim to be so technologically challenged...just sayin'.

Uh-oh..... Double-O Cease? Licensed to Shop?

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
So says the guy who admitted to defrauding mystery shopping companies by not performing the shops according to the guidelines...by calling and emailing the location to ask questions over then phone and just going to the location to get a business card or photos to submit the shop. You are lucky to not have been deactivated, and doing that is going to catch up with you. Sooner or later you will get caught.

Anyone who does that is lucky to be banned and nothing else.
LOL! My computer tells me every time I log on.

All the ads are for Jefferson, MO.

All the job boards for MSCs say I'm in Missouri.

I do the same. When you turn off the gps on your laptop, it gives the location that it last was active. When I open presto, it always shows shops from that last location. Google and norton also shows location from log ins from that area as well. Even though I am hundreds of miles away, in a different state, nad have not gone to that location for 2 years.
The last time I was in Missouri, Gary Hart hadn't even begun his presidential run...no one but the super wealthy had phones in their cars (except Mannix and Rockford, of course)...and desktops accessible to the average American weren't even a gleam in anybody's eye yet.

Well, maybe to a couple kids working in a garage....

I think, but I am not sure, that it is where my ISP's office is located.

And thanks...but methinks Double-O-Cease would actually translate as

OOO

"Triple Aught"

Sounds dangerous!!!

Huh? (Gary Hart wasn't, either.)

My friend Jeri had a phone in her Lincoln Continental, LOL. I think it was around 1984. Boy was that thing clunky and ugly (yeah, both the phone and the car), but she thought she was pretty cool.
My friend had one in his in 84, too. I think they called those car phones "bricks" -- they were the size and weight of one!
