Independent Contractors win one in New York state

Appeals court rules that Postmates delivery workers are employees and not contractors. The court's reasoning was that the company controlled much of the workers' activities, from how they got customers, when/where they work, the amounts they were paid, how they got paid (or whether they were paid at all), etc. Sound familiar?

I was watching "Live With Ali Velshi" on MSNBC today, where The NY attorney general told him it was a victory for all gig workers in New York. Very similar to the California decision a year or so ago in thst it was based on whether the workers met the requirements for an IC or employee.

I wouldn't consider it a victory, but that's just me. I probably wouldn't agree with the NY AG on anything else, either.
