Why are there no small bags of rice? I do not want a 10lb bag. I went to 3 different stores yesterday and only the gigantic bags available. I ended up getting some Jasmine Rice - which was delicious and also about 3X the price of the normal white.
White rice is less than 50 cents a pound.@HonnyBrown wrote:
People still eat white rice? I also eat brown or wild rice. I am especially partial to brown basmati rice.

Jasmine and Basmati rice is over $1 a pound.
So if people are used to getting a 20 pound bag of white rice for $9.99, then they are the crowd who is paying $1-$2 a pound for fancy rice.
There you go Marie Antoinette.

King Arthur Bread Flour, Pickle Relish, still no Lysol Spray (since the beginning of March).
Not in So Cal. People have cleared it out everywhere, including the Persian markets. Home Improvement stores, hardware stores, liquor stores, etc. - all gone. The only time that I have seen it was on Friday at CVS. Lysol To Go, travel size, $4.99.@Jenny Cassada wrote:
My boyfriend saw a whole shelf of lysol spray, wipes, etc at Home Depot today. He said they also had plenty of paper towels and other cleaners. I always forget about that section at home improvement stores. I bet a lot of other people do, too.

No exactly the same as shortages, But...I take Hydroxychloroquine and normally pay $90.00 for a 3 month supply. Today the price was $151.00 for the same amount.

I can find Blinze's anywhere...used to get them at Trader Joe's, but every place is sold out.
Aldi's sells their own brand of this for $1.99 for the non-concentrate (with calcium and Vit D, as well as all the other regular variations) for their now-52 oz bottles, which is what ALL the brands are now (they keep shrinking!!). Hubby & I used to drink Trop 50 (diluted 50%), so now I buy the Aldi non-concentrate (with cal & vit D) and use bottled water to rinse out an empty container, then divide the contents of the bottle between the 2 bottles, and fill the rest with bottled water. Voila! Trop 50 at less than half the price!@shoptastic wrote:
This isn't weird per se, but they are often out of the Tropicana OJ (with calcium and Vitamin D) that I like. People seem to like that brand a lot too I guess. Or, maybe they want it for the Vitamin D and Vitamin C.
Anyhow, I've been having to buy non-ideal brands of OJ.

Also, the jalapeno peppers that I can find, for several weeks now, are only available in a size that would dwarf a pickling-sized cucumber, I am NOT paying $1.99 so that I can use 1/2 tsp of one!
