Weird pandemic shortages

Costco wipes can be ordered through Amazon. I just had a case of them delivered, with no delays. Not renewing my Costco membership unless I find that they are the sole source of a good price on a big ticket item, like a set of Michelin tires.

Cut them up and freeze to use as needed in cooking.

Sorry. I have your jalapenos. I paid $0.59 for 2 of them in my imperfectfoods box. They sent me 20. I got 20 for $0.59. LOL We are making salsa I guess? Roma tomatoes are in a glut here too. They're $0.39/pound.

Costco is widely held out as the best price on car rentals by many in the travel forums...worked for me. I joined solely for big savings on a rental.

As far as white rice - Paul Jaminet, major health researcher, mentions its many benefits (mainly over brown rice which apparently can include toxins).... one citation from his many talks on the subject:

Shortages? just wipes, but I've started making my own with a diluted chlorine solution.
One interesting aspect of this pandemic is how many new DIY habits I've picked up.
I fell head over heels in love with Costo beauty products when I had a membership. I found them on Amazon.

I cut up raw peppers and freeze them for cooking.

Yes, they're only good for cooking after they thaw, but I rarely use jalapenos in their natural state anyway.

We have lots of baggies of frozen chopped peppers in the freezer. We're doing a tostada bar for dinner, so we will use some of them tonight.
Yes, I freeze them to have them on hand for omelets, Tacos. The way I do it is to cut them in strips then place the strips on a frozen sheet pan that has been in the freezer overnight lay the strips out and cover with a paper towel and some weight put them back in the freezer and the next day into ziplock baggies they go.

Off-topic: I can't find rubbing alcohol anywhere. Has anyone had luck?

It's actually getting a bit annoying, because it's very useful.

91% almost impossible to find.
70% Target in store. 70% Wal-mart.com (makes me ill to patronize Wal-Mart, but I will admit to buying it there.)
Yahoo has an article on a common cleaning product that will kill the corona virus in 2 hours. This product will be shorted by this weekend.

I didn't read the article, so I don't know what the product was.

That product hasn't been available since February anyway. I have 6 cans though. I have connections.
We eat graham crackers occasionally. I have been to multiple stores over a month's time span and the shelves for graham crackers have been empty. I don't understand it. I know s'mores are a thing in summer, but I've never seen graham crackers not on shelves.

Pepcid continues to be out in all stores, also

Pasta shelves are almost always empty

Have you tried asking your pharmacist? That's where I had to get mine last time. They had It behind the pharmacist's counter.
For the first time in months, my housemate found hydrogen peroxide in stock at a large regional grocery store/pharmacy.

Is it okay to say that the brand name has five letters, two of which are the same letter?

Last week in the pop aisle there was a sign saying there is an aluminum shortage.
Luckily, I rarely drink pop.
I don't eat beef or ham, but the signage at the deli said Boar's head is having a shortage of beef and ham products. Thankfully, I only purchase the lower salt turkey.

Lysol? I don’t see why not?
Nitrile gloves were out of stock at the two big retailers I recently checked. I use these for one job daily. I hate vinyl gloves, and mittens don't last long. The thick work gloves are too bulky for what I do. I have enough for a few weeks. I hope I find more soon.....

Thanks. I shall ask my Target and Walmart if they have them.

I have avoided them, due to the crowds, but I can try for curbside. Last time I was at Target (March), the entire shelves of two stores were cleared of rubbing alcohol.

According to relatives locally here, it's hard to find bleach or alcohol at grocery stores. I only have found bleach at Costco (called ahead to confirm, so as to not drive there and be disappointed).

Not yet. I shall try.

I will also look for white vinegar, which is another cleaning product. I bought three large jugs during my last trip in March when I couldn't find rubbing alcohol. Two of them are used up now. One left.
Just read a news article on my phone this morning. Know what the latest weird shortage is due to Covid 19? Above ground swimming pools!!! Makes sense. People can't get out. Famous pool maker DoughBoy and others are saying they're sold out till August, and if you order now, it won't be set up till September! How about that!
Could not find sugar-free jello, guess everyone else is trying to lose the Covid pounds also. I get rubbing alcohol from 99cent stores. They have doubled the price but they usually have it in stock.
Why are paper towels on Amazon at price gauging rates, while at Target, Costco, etc., they are normally priced?

It's like $40 for 24 rolls....$27 for 16 rolls, etc. on Amazon.
No shortage of Dr. Pepper in OK that I have seen in fact it is going for $10 for three 12 packs.
Costco had a bunch when I went Monday (Dr. Pepper). Also, my post on paper towels was to say they are buyable in non-Amazon stores. So, who the heck is buying them at Amazon for 3x-4x...etc. prices these days???
