On the worst characters thread, they were talking about Roy somebody-or-other. Well, now we should talk about Roy from Agatha Raisin.

I loved Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show. The bumbling deputy who was slow witted but he made me laugh every time with his shenanigans. He was a good friend to Andy and his son Opie. His southern charm and voice made his character very unique.

I liked Columbo a lot. Watching a few of the episodes now and then on Prime.

I watch mostly non-fiction TV. I like Chris Cuomo for news/politics host.

Dr. Huxtable was great in The Cosby Show, though.

Dr Green on ER, Gibbs on NCIS, Elizabeth on Madame Secretary

Loved Mathew Horne on "Gavin and Stacey"; but find him extremely annoying on Agatha Raisin. Maybe if I read the books he would be more likable.

Raymond Reddington.

Kitty Foreman on That 70s Show. She made the best of every situation, cared for her family, showed compassion for those around her, had a career as a nurse, and enjoyed intimacy with Red. Not a bad role model, despite occasionally dissembling to avoid touchy subjects.

Too many to list. And every time the series is put to bed it's a bummer. So much entertainment. Of course at my age I was fortunate to enjoy both Hawaii Five O's. LOL

I am loving Ray, Frank, Robbie and Marie on Everybody Loves Raymond. Also Doug, Arthur, Carrie and Deacon on the King of Queens. Hilarious.

Nicola Walker in Unforgotten, Tom Selleck in Blue Bloods, Nathan Fillion in Firefly, and Tim Allen in Last Man Standing. Excellent series and excellent characters.

How could I have forgotten Steve Harvey.

I find Steve Harvey really hilarious. He always asks questions that have inappropriate answers and then when contestants do answer, he just drops his jaw and stares at them!!

He is so sharp, alert, charming and hilarious!

I've started liking Columbo a lot. He looks so much like my dad. There is something about these 60' s and 70's characters that I find very appealing. I love Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore and Andy Griffith. Husband says I might have jumped out of a 60's sitcom. Guess, I have an old soul

Funny, I find that exact same thing annoying!

Just one more thing... Peter Falk had a few more remarks...

I Love Lucy! And Ethel, Fred and Ricky.

For anyone that likes Peter Falk as Colombo, I highly recommend Capitaine Marleau, a French female detective in the same vein as Colombo.

I really enjoy watching reruns of that show as well! For ANYONE out there who enjoys watching Lucille Ball, here's a VERY INTERESTING documentary from YouTube about her life as an actress...it's just shy of 90 minutes, but NO ads, and quite interesting. Here's the link: [www.youtube.com]

Along this line, don't you just hate it when an actor plays a role that is upstanding and noble, one that you really want to cheer on and then turns around and plays a different role on a different show that's bent, twisted and truly hateable? It messes with my head and kind of ruins the good character on the first show.

I don't mind it too much. They're actors. This is probably fun, and possibly necessary, for them.

Recently, I watched 'The Odd Couple: Together Again' with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. Debra Jo Rupp as the Plaza Assistant Manager politely told off Felix Unger. I cheered! You go, girl! I would bet that everyone else cheered, too.

Ben Cartwright on Bonanza or Andy Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show. They were not quick to criticize or demean. They looked on the bright side of people and situations They taught us through their moral character. No scheming, no one uping no in your face posturing. Love that stuff..
