roadblocks, very frustrated

I'm so tired of this. Every time I get in a rhythm and start being able to leave the house without a three day break in between to gather my courage to go out again, SOMETHING happens. Jason gets a project, or the Jeep needs something. I didn't even get to finish my route this time, the axle hub bearing went out on the Jeep. My son wants to go make the money to replace it in the city doing doordash, but I'm not sure that's safe. I missed a post office shop (I got the other 4 done). I have a route of gas stations to do in TN that I was supposed to do today, but I know that I can change the dates on those.

The new axle hub will be here tomorrow, the gear oil showed up today, but the diff cover gasket won't be here until the middle of next week. I could probably put the new hub on and wait to change the gear oil, but I don't know if the bearing came apart and metal shavings got into the gear oil. And as much as I love working on cars, my hands and knees don't work the way they used to and I really can't afford to rebuild an entire differential when the Jeep is our only form of transportation. I need a break so that I can fix my son's car (because he won't) and get him back on the road and out of my Jeep (it only seems to break when he is driving it).

Wow, Morledzep, that is a lot to deal with.

Morledzep, Thank you for venting here.

I'm not sure I'm following correctly, but it seems that the Jeep is your transportation and Jason has other means of transportation. And I understand completely about aging and not being able to do what we once could, want to and can't today.

Strain the oil to eliminate any metal shavings.
I'm in awe of anyone who knows their way around cars. All I can do is call the repair shop and wait for them to fit it in.
