Memorial day is not for veterans. It is for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice, their life.

Nothing wrong with thanking a veteran as well. In some cases they may have come *this* close to giving the ultimate sacrifice. Just keep it a bit more on the solemn side and focus on their own fallen fellow service members.

Veterans are the lucky ones. Many have not come back whole. They deserve a thank you for their service.

I thank veterans every day and on Memorial Day make special note of the fallen.

Memorial Day is for the folks that paid the ultimate price and died for our country.
