Channel Watch

I have done mystery shopping for approximately three years and have never had this happen to me before -- seeking any information on this company and how to handle the problem.

I did a job for Channel Watch in April 2011 and still have not been paid. I have sent at least five e-mails to various elements of the Company without any response. In the last e-mail I even threatened to turn them in to the BBB if I did not hear from them.

What else can I do?

They have been a problem company for several years. I just used my bookmark link to go to their site and was surprised that my login no longer works. Ok, I haven't tried to log on for more than a year. . .

Their website shows the following contact information:

Channel Watch Inc.
369-B Third Street
San Rafael, CA 94901
925-344-5300
866-673-1225
415-256-9423 (fax)

I would give them a call and be determined. Hopefully the numbers are still 'live' ones.
I suggest sending them a letter certified mail, return receipt requested, demanding payment within 14 days, and if payment isn't received in 14 days the promise of legal action. Maybe you'll get to that stage, maybe you won't, but at least you'll know where you stand once you send a letter like that.
Thanks for your ideas Flash and raisitup. I'll probably try the phone calling and contacting BBB. Since the job pay was only $10.50 it would not be prudent to put good money to chase bad.
Threaten them with a complaint to the Attorney General's office...this will result in immediate payment after they tell you they had accounting problems...same disgusting b.s. line used by Goodwin!!!!

Does Channel Watch still do the cable TV rewards card shop at 2 small theater chains???

Nothing. They are crooks. They are the only company I've been stiffed by. They won't pay you and they won't respond...move on.

I did a several jobs for Channel Watch last year. Didn't get paid. Once I got a live person and she said I would be paid next month. That was almost a year ago.

I've been shopping for about eight years and this is the only company that ever stiffed me.
After numerous e-mails and several attempts to contact them by phone, I have decided my time is worth more -- they are just not going to respond. What is ironic is just in the last week I have received three e-mails "congratulating me as being selected to do mystery shopping for them." Interestingly in these e-mails, they mention having problems with their on-line site. Do they seriously believe I would even consider working for them??????
I have been stiffed by this company too. They are back doing High end coffee maker demonstrator evaluations. Do them at you own risk. Your only payment may be that free cup of coffee and the lovely chat with the coffee maker rep.

I did one for them for a high end vacuum demo and got paid the next month, no problems.
I have been with them since 2009 and found they experience financial difficulty more times than not. Once it took me 3 months to get paid past the 60 day wait period. Then other times I have been paid right on time. Had extensive conversations with Kim Sharpe and her sister (they own the company) and they seem to be really trying hard.

Just some insight.

As an addition to the above post that I wrote, please beware as I have two shops done last month and they have not processed those shops per their site, therefore I attempted to call and all their numbers appear to be cancelled. That means the only way to reach them is by either going to their physical location or by mail... will be investigating this further and get back to this post.

I went back to their site yesterday to look up my history. After several months of not showing payment of my job completed 5/21 it now shows I was paid on 6/01. Funny I keep amazing records and never saw that check in the mail.

I'd be very careful usung this company. If you are going to be in the area accept the job since it is a no brainer and accept the free coffee from the demo rep. Perhaps you'll get paid, or perhaps you'll learn a little about the coffee maker and try a new flvor coffee.

BTW I am a coffee demo rep for the company being mystery shopped. I think it is kind of cool that I'll be mystery shopped. As part of my job I have 2 mystery shops on other demos scheduled by my employer. (not C2)

Can you do that? I would think an MSC would not want you shopping a company you currently work for.
