I too enjoyed the BVs, but I will not get a background check that is part of being something other than 'man on the street' impressions of whether a business is legitimate or not.

I enjoy them as well and recently did one for another company. No background check and they even paid a bit moresmiling smiley

I find it interesting they claim Canadians don't need the background check. I guess only US residents are potential criminals.

Probably the clients are the ones who do not require that. Remember that there is a different set up for USA and Canada.

When I was living in the States, I was always aware of the difference. But Lisa, they CLAIMED, but it has never been proven that Canadians don't need a background check. I have told them I would not do any background check to do a mystery shop. They repeatedly insisted that I do not need it and asked me to do them. Time and again, it never went through.

I think they have very limited number of shoppers in my area and oh, I really can't do any "tongue in cheek" as you always say or know when it applies, but we do have different laws in Canada so it probably has something to do with it. But it remains to be seen if Canadians are indeed exempted from background check to do BV.

Last year alone, I had a background check for Jury duty, airport pass, charitable company, volunteer work, whatever. There is no way I will do a background check for a mystery shop. I think I have proven enough that I am not a potential criminal at least to the Canadian government. lol
I should have added a smiley because it was actually a joke. I don't know if I'm buying into the whole client requirement either. Flash was probably correct saying they are using it to make their shoppers out to be something they are notwinking smiley

Nice of them to let us know a year later that a new background check will be required annually. I'll pay because I enjoy the Business Verifications. I've done 4 this week alone. Still really annoying to find this out a year later.
I just saw that a background check is required every year. I am glad that I decided to drop the BV, even though I was doing about 30 every year.
I love this company. Quick pay, great MSC's, good jobs. Ithink I have them on "speed dial" on my computer!
I just tried to get the background check, however I only use American Express, which they don't take, so, I'm out....

Isn't your debit card a Visa or Mastercard?

Irene, amex has a prepaid that is totally free called serve. You can link your bank or amex to it. I can send you a referral link if you want or you can apply online at serve dot com.

You are right; then the seve card would be useless because it acts like a prepaid amex.
Thx guys, I'll figure it out or just use my Chase card this once.

Background for TS is done pretty quickly and they are "el cheapo" reports. Very, very, very basic! I'm going through one for GCS that I've been told costs $70 and takes about 10 days so I suspect that is a little more in depth than the TS one.
