Feedback on Measure Consumer Perspectives

I have worked with MCP in the past and it was a less than perfect experience. I took three video apartment shops. To begin, I was charged a fees on each shop to have the video camera delivered, even though all shops were done at the same time.

When the shops were done, one was disqualified because because the camera images were not square, even though everything was visible. As someone on this forum has said in the past, the MS company likely passed the report on.

The second was not paid. When asked about it, the company said it had been paid. After several back and forth's with MCP, they did not make the payment right.

So, what should have been $240 in fees ended up being $80.

I tried again with a bunch of phone shops. Different circumstaces, but they found reasons to not pay some of the shops.

I won't be taking other shops with MCP.

Video is tough. Without seeing your film none of us can comment on the particulars, but every company is picky about framing, etc. It is normal for a reduced fee to be on a per shop basis when the MSC provides the rig regardless of when the shops are performed. For example, EPMS pays $50 per shop when they supply equipment and $60 if the shopper uses their own. It doesn't matter if they send it out for 1 shop or for 5.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

all we have here are cell phone shops. and I have been to everyone within driving distance at least twice. The pay is decent and regular.
I recently resigned from them as I completed a tanning shop that they wanted to stiff me on ($50) as I was 5 hours late on a report because of a family emergency, I had gone out of my way to complete it for them as well after another shopper flaked!

I had to threaten to contact the client in order to get paid. I believe there are too many reasonable companies out there to tolerate.

They seem to work on a shoestring budget as it takes forever to get emails answered with their overworked schedulers.
One of my favorite companies! I perform the wireless carrier shops and have my rotations staggered between several cities so I have work from them each month. They pay great and the scheduler I work with is awesome.
just did two shops for them today. Bonused because I had to drive a distance.
I have done a number of shops for them and they pay like clockwork. The month after you dom the shop. I just did a casual resturant and just got my dinner paid for. So my wife and iand my neighbors went out on saturday night and had a very good time and after my payback for our meals and drinks it cost me $1.76. That was a very nice night out on the client thru the MDSC.

I had two good experiences with this company UNTIL last week, when my scheduler emailed me saying my shop would not be accepted because I used a coupon.

Trouble is, I DIDN'T use a coupon, and I had the full price receipt to prove it. Naturally, I sent it to prove that I did not use a coupon. I was then told that I "tried" to use an expired coupon, which is why my shop is invalid. I then said, no, I inquired about a CURRENT on their website, which I did not use. Simply asked a question.

After THAT accusation was proven untrue, they then said my actions revealed me as a mystery shopper. Yup. Me going in there, buying a full price product, inquiring about a coupon the company has posted on their national website, and leaving after completing the shop per instructions clearly blew my cover.

What happened is that the company blew my cover, then accused me of three things I did not do, all of which I proved false. I asked to speak to a manager or a payroll person or something. I was ignored.

I'm choosing to drop it because $45 isn't worth my stress, and I feel sorry for the minions who actually have to work for this company....but beware. You will not be paid if they decide to accuse you of things you did not do. They're using my report (illegally), I'm sure, and not paying me.

I've done over 100 mystery shops for a variety of companies....there are many, many better ones out there. I have a Masters degree; I'm no dummy, and I didn't screw up this shop. Stay away from these pathetic scammers.
I too had a negative experience with this company and have taken them off my list. I completed a report in March of last year. My report was put on hold until June then they came back and said the picture was unacceptable. Funny, I had done the same shop for another company the pictures were of the same quality and received an excellent score. I agree, they use your report and do not pay.

I find it odd that I'm quoting myself, but just had a perfect example of MCP's scheduling issues. There were two jobs very close to me that went on the boards yesterday, with a due date of today. I applied for them at around 7PM yesterday. As of 3PM today, they were still showing as applied for, but not assigned. I withdrew my application, as I don't want to get stuck with them being assigned to me at 6PM today.
Lordy I hope MCP doesn't turn out to be another a-hole company. So far, I love them. One of the few companies I have faith in. Now, it seems others are having negative experiences. WHAT is going on? I feel so anxious every time I go out on a shop or have an exchange with an MSC now.
zlinedavid, I had the same experience last night/this morning. Two newly listed assignments, needed to be done today. I applied for both and heard nada.

That is why sometimes I do not mess with MCP. They say in their emails that they do not assign every shop listed, only until they reach a certain amount of shops filled. So I never know if I am just not getting them, if they have even seen the applications, or if they reached their quota and they are done assigning.
Had a strange experience yesterday. Did two shops for them, came home and started doing the reports, Before I began my reports I looked at my assignments and saw the two listed, completed one and did the upload. I go back to my list to do the second one and it had vanished off my list. A follow up communication was that it had been pulled from my list in that few minutes with no explanation. A nice waste of my time, not to mention losing out on a fee. I don't need this bovine effluvia.

Cettie, that's an awful experience but I can't say I'm surprised. That's how these crooks do business. And even though I think it's illegal to send someone off on a job and then rescind and not pay for it, they know no one will go after them for such a small amount of money. It's legal scamming.

To anyone who has had issues with MCP: File a complaint online with the Better Business Bureau! It's free, it's easy and it goes in their permanent file. It means other people will see they have multiple complaints against them. It means they won't get clients or shoppers, and it is also a waste of their time because they need to take the time to respond. I filed one and it dragged on for six months. The thought that they wasted more of their time typing up official letters lying to respond than it would have taken to pay me was at least somewhat gratifying.

Let's put these criminals out of business.
Seems this is an ideal case to be brought to the attention of the MSPA. I believe MCP is a member. Members agree to meet certain standards, yada yada. One of the guidelines is that shoppers get paid fairly. Cettie did absolutely nothing wrong. She already did the work, and she did so according to the terms of her IC at the time she did the work.

Will her one complaint/report to the MSPA do anything. No, of course not.

But if we all took a moment to file a "complaint" in clear cut cases such as this, the MSPA would start to take notice.

I have no personal qualms with MCP but knowing things like this happen scares the lalalala out of me.

I can't speak to your personal situations, but I do know that at Measure you must log in to your account and click the "accept"button for the assignement before it is oficially yours to do.

The shop can be assigned to you, but if you do not log in and hit accept the shops are removed. Plans change all the time and sometimes we ask for a shop, then can't do it. Once it is assigned it must be accepted or declined.

Like I said, I don't know the circumstances of the previous posts, but thats one thing many shoppers are not used to doing. I don't know if all shopping systems make you accept the shops, but I know the system at Measure does.
I really like MCP. I've done their phone shops, they are very easy, the report was easy, and they pay reliably. Never had any trouble accepting.
I accepted to no avail. Next time I plan to wallop the "accept" button with my manure shovel. IF there is a next time.

I figured Cettie took care of that. Cettie I hope you will think about my suggestion.

Cettie, did you ever contact Measure? I'm really curious about what could have happened or what the excuse could be.

A few years back my husband was in political office. In the course of that experience I was able to meet all kinds of people. Some of those people were in a position farther up the food chain than most. I've really and truly had enough of the shenanigans of not just MCP but others, let's just say I've finally snapped my twig and today I made a phone call. Enough is enough.

Tell us about the phone call, Cettie. PLEASE.
Hey Guys - youse is scaring me.

I've done three phone shops for them and when I looked at the pay thingee
it shows I'm being paid for the two completed and I just sent in the third.

When do they pay by the way?
The month after, but what day approximately?
Isn't it interesting how some MSC's will leave a bad taste in one's mouth, but that same MSC for another shopper is a 180 degree difference?

I've done probably 50 shops for them over the past 5 months. I have nothing but good things to say about the Schedulers and Editors. I've been self-assigning about 75% of the shops so far. They rightfully could have deactivated me - see this thread: [www.mysteryshopforum.com] because I ended up flaking on a shop where I could not for the life of me find the location.

Instead, I apologized profusely and when this location came up again, I applied for it and actually found it the 2nd time around. They gave me another chance to make it right.

I've always been paid by them the following month around the 15th. Deposit in Paypal like clock work. I just finished 14 jobs for the in the past week and all but 5 have been "Okay for Pay" - (I just submitted the final 5 last night). I had questions on two of the jobs, so they ended up being submitted 24 hours late - BUT, the Scheduler extended the due date for me because I had to wait for her to answer.

Dustin is the Scheduler I've talked to directly on the phone and he is fantastic with questions.

One thing I found - with pretty much ALL MSC's - I call them FIRST with questions (providing I can locate a phone number & it's during business hours). And then, I send a follow up email to them - asking for a read & delivery receipt.

I wish they did rotation for the pirate seafood place. I ended up doing the same location three months running but all of my applications for stores closer to me and away from metro Atlanta also seem to be taken by someone else.

If you have to @#$%& about one thing with them, it definitely is the scheduling. If they gave us more lead time to plan routes they might not have such an issue filling the outlying stores.

I never get pirate seafood offers down here.

I like seafood, except sushi.

Hey. Joy. I did a mattress shop for them about two weeks ago and got paid today.
Yay!.

I just did two cell phone shops for them. However, I felt the $12.00 fee was quite low for the amount of work put into the shops. Before I accept anything else, I will see if I get any feedback and how payment is.
I've been doing the cell phone stores and I, too, think the latest pay is low. The first ones I did were higher. But I haven't had any problems with this company as others above mentioned.
