Completed Coyle shop

Hi all,

I just received my first official score with Coyle and I got an 18, which by their standard is in the excellent range. Yippee!

I was so intimidated after what I have read on Coyle, but was also up for the challenge. I want to develop a good reputation with them for future assignments.

Just thought I would spread the word, for anyone trying to get an shop with them. It took me a couple attempts to get accepted and what I can share is, follow their guidelines exactly. Keep your narrative objective, 3 words max on any NO-N/A questions and follow their guidelines on the way they want numerals written out.

The editor was very sweet and helpful in telling me what was great about my first report with them and what I could improve on next time.

Good luck! ;>winking smiley

Hooray, mlmagic! It sounds like you did a great job for Coyle - especially for a first shop. You are absolutely right (in my experience) about adhering to their guidelines, particularly with the format of introductory sentences and getting initial and final quotes. Way to go! smiling smiley

Thank you, I was pretty excited about that! I was sure I would bomb big time, with all the guidelines!
The scheduler was very sweet and told me the same...Nice to have someone let you know how you are doing in these reports, some companies, don't say a word!
How long did it take you to get your first assignment? I just remembered I submitted my application to become a shopper about a month ago, and haven't heard back.

Should I take that as a sign that I need to submit better essays? Gain more experience? What was your experience like? Did you hear back right away upon submitting your application?

Thanks!

When I applied I heard back fairly quickly. Unfortunately I have yet to find a shop that I qualify for, but I keep hoping. I have no idea what they are looking for; I filled out the application form the same as I would for any other MSP.

I never heard back at all. The way I got into the company was to take one of the shops scheduled by Quality, which are very different than the normal Coyle shops. I think hearing back really depends on whether or not you live in an area where they need shoppers. If time passes, you can always call or email to ask about the status of your application.
I was approved by Coyle the day after I registered with them by email, telling me I made the cut, literally. :>winking smiley

I then went in and applied for a couple assignments, heard nothing back and then saw they were gone on their job board. So I applied again for another shop and then within 2 days, I got an email telling me I had the shop with instructions and also a welcome letter from an editor personally saying hello and some tips for my first shop with them.

I actually really liked the way their layout on their reports are. It is broken up into sections and you move through the sections as you move through the shop that was done.

I can't wait to work with them again and hope I work my way up into luxury hotel/spa status! :>winking smiley
It depends how much they need shoppers in your area regarding how quick you can get accepted. Some cities have tons of shops available and others have shops assigned only to the best scoring evaluators.

Congrats on the good score, mimagic. Sounds like you really did your homework so the better shops will follow shortly!
Thanks!
