Consumer Connection

There is another thread on this company but it is very old.
I did my first shop for them today, a food specialty store. Filled out the report, only to keep getting the message that 2 questions are not answered. All questions are answered. Every last one. Of course, the error message does not say which two questions are not answered. I've gone over it several times and there is nothing more I can do. I emailed them. I've done many mystery shops and have never had this problem. Also, I thought the form was not clearly done.
Also, payment is by Hyperwallet? Who uses Hyperwallet? I remember quite a few years ago doing some survey or something and getting paid by Hyperwallet but have not heard of it since.
I'm not feeling too happy now. The other thread was quite uncomplimentary.

Why start a new thread?

Isn't better to keep all the information about an MSC in one thread? Even if the information is old, it's still very pertinent. The threads should be merged.

This particular MSC is at the very bottom of my @#$%& list. I firmly believe that anyone thinking about shopping for them should be required to do a search on the company name so they have an idea what they're getting into.

BTW, I really hope you get paid. You'll probably have to chase down payments, be belittled by the company owner for having the nerve to ask for your payment and eventually, months after payment is due, you'll likely be paid. By then, you'll be steaming and come back here looking for the original thread so you can add your tale of woe.
Hi,
I have worked for this company for about 8 months now. They initially tended to be about a week behind in sending my pay (it was due the 14th of the month following the shop), but then they changed their policy to have pay issued before the last business day of each month. That worked for a couple of months, but now I have not received any pay for work I did in March 2012. They initially made a payment (smaller than it should have been) to Hyperwallet, and then reversed the payment. When I contacted my manager at the company, I was told accounting had a glitch and that they were working diligently to correct the problem. Well, that was over a week ago. I seem to get no where until I start threatening to cancel scheduled shops, or not submit reports. The lack of communication is infuriating. This company does pay more than any other that I have investigated, but if you don't receive payment, your pay is $0!!
Is anyone else having current problems with this company?
Seems to be a couple of issues here that may not have been resolved.

Mary this is a wonderful idea to pull up all of the threads about non-payment. If the owner of CC wants to see lots of posts about her company then let us be sure they are fair and balance. Do you think the posters here are going to have a chance at that $100 prize?

Lisa, the new forum members who are making positive posts are all working for the Consumer Connection now and I think they truly were not/are not aware there were ever payment problems with the company. That's why they're not catching on to what's going on. Their experiences have been positive and they haven't been previously exposed to the negative feedback. I didn't actually pull up every post (there was another long juicy one).

The current contest at Consumer Connection looks like an effort to get some current positive PR out there on the forum and on Google. I'm hoping that pulling the older threads up top will give the new posters a more balanced view of what's happened over time. I haven't shopped for Consumer Connection and I first heard of Cathrine Ann when she posted here and brought the first old thread to the top. I feel a strong sense of community with other forum members and I don't want to see the forum used to delude new shoppers.

My goal is for everyone to have a shot at all the information available here. What they do with that information is their business.

I agree. I remember Consumer Connection from the earlier, very juicy post that Mary keeps teasing us with....that was a while ago. If we get very many more positive posts, I'll bring the juicy one to the top to help Mary give a balanced view of what shoppers are reporting. The last couple of days of positive posts, which seem to have been prompted by the promise from the company of a chance to win $100, are the first positive reports I've seen on Consumer Connection.
I wouldn't waste your time reading anything written by Cathrine Ann, she is a pathological liar and is only in this business to make money on the backs of her wonderful shoppers. There have been times over the years where she has been 6months late in paying her shoppers as well as her internal staff. All the while she is spending huge money on herself, and bragging about it, while she leaves her workers with no pay for Christmas. Believe me I know of what I speak. If anything goes wrong in her company she never takes responsibility, it is always someone else's fault. Just beware, never let the amount she owes you get too high, and don't believe her when she says it is a glitch, it is her spending the money on cars, trips and diamonds, that should be paying her shoppers. Again, I am not talking out the side of my face, I know this first hand.
All that said, you will ultimately be paid, but it may take months.
If this company does not pay their shoppers on time, they will loose excellent shoppers who do the jobs properly and submit them before the due dates. I have been waiting for my payment for work I did in February and March. They pay eight weeks after the jobs have been completed. They are slow at paying, but this is not a good sign.
@ Lyn Paris - I just got paid today for shops I did in February. They kept telling me they hadn't received payment so I told them I would call (the clients) to find out why 2 huge companies were so behind in paying CC. I think this isn't something they wanted (the clients) to hear about so they decided to pay up instead smiling smiley . We really shouldn't have to resort to threats to get paid what we're owed. It's ridiculous.

Mod note: Please don't identify clients or give hints when the MSC has been named.
This company is horrible with payment, constantly having to ask where my pay is, and same old rresponse"soon as possible" its frustrating, i refuse to do any shops for them where i put any money out and would advise everyone else that as well. They are brutal, sometimes 4 months to get paid, they owe me alot of money right now, i just hope i get paid.
