Beyond Frustrated with Beyond Hello

What is it with this company? I live in Indiana and they send me emails every day for jobs in California, Texas, New York, etc. I finally set my preference to no emails.

And, every time I've applied for an assignment I've never gotten it. I've done everything from fast food to high-end resorts and yet I'm not deemed worthy to do a sunglass store? I do work for 20+ msc and this is the only one who won't give me assignments.

Today I deactivated my account with them. Buh-bye!

That's curious. I do get an annoying lot of emails from them, but the shops are all within 30 miles or so of my area, or at least my zip code. I just did one of the sunglasses shops. BH seems to be pretty desperate for people to take them. Not sure why. It certainly wasn't difficult. Nice sunglasses, but I ain't gonna pay $144.95 for them. The shop only took 12 minutes. Pretty easy $10. Anyway, if BH gets your dander up, no biggie. There's plenty of other MSC fish in the sea, right?

They've driven me nuts with e-mails from all over the place too. I won't deactivate though because you are right about the sunglass shops and for that matter most of their shops. They don't always pay a ton, but the jobs are not hard and the reports are actually quite reasonable. BTW, I have several pairs of glasses from those shops. Naturally I waited until they were on clearance and in the $30 to $50 rangewinking smiley

I live in Indiana too but I don't have a sunglasses store near me, and those emails are so annoying! Once in a blue moon they have a shop in my area but usually it's just repetitive emails day after day with shops that are useless to me.
I'm not a big fan of BH either. Apart from the non-stop emails for the same shops, some 2-3 provinces away, I'm a little ticked with their editing.

I had 5 phone shops requiring screen shots. I committed the deadly sin of not cropping the screen shots. Each call took about 5 minutes and only a few minutes to enter. Super simple right? My first 3 reports were 9s, the fourth was an 8 and the last one was a 7. Each report was nearly identical. What's up with that? Will it now be even harder to get assignments from them?

I don't care about the rating so much, as long as I get paid. But, seriously, talk about inconsistent! Pfft, not impressed and not doing anymore of those phone shops no matter how many emails they send or how desperate they get. They're not quick with bonuses and my ego's a bit bruised winking smiley
They were one of my first, and I've never had a problem. My setting is off for receiving emails, and that is honored. I don't always get their coffee
shops in my area, but they have a rotation. I enjoy shopping for BH, and am
surprised others have trouble, must be a location thing!!

Speaking of Beyond Hello. I just did my first shop for them on the 5th but have not been rated yet. Do they usually take a long time to rate the report?
I don't recall it taking that long, but it is only 5 days. Maybe they've been able to get a lot of shops done early and the editors are backed up.

I am doing my first shop for them this week...a high end retail. Need to find something in my closet not 1000 years old. I am fortunate enough to actually be able to afford this stuff if I ever wanted to spend $4000 on a purse (altho not if I bought it every day! then I too would be out of money, but I can afford to buy good things once in a while.) If I was not on a mystery shop I would walk into those stores in whatever I was wearing, usually jeans and a t shirt but i think i better be careful and dress the part! How silly to have to dress up when I would not if I was going without mystery shopping.
Sandy, they have an age limit (45) on that one (or I'd be doing it).... it's fun but a P/R. I wear black slacks or my good designer jeans,
cute blouse and nice jacket, fun to dress, wish I could meet you. I do it for another company, but with no return.

Hi all, I live in Ca,so do a lot for Beyond Hello. I really like them. Surely, you are correct in not wanting emails for other state shops. I get those too from other companies. We always specify areas, but, some do not have their systems calibrated to this parameter.
I simply ask to be removed from any company's list that does not have a job I can do at a price that is reasonable after 2 months. Every couple of weeks I apply at more companies. I am fortunate to live in a major metropolitan area. These jobs certsainly do not pay enough to make a move worthwhile. SusanSusan
Hi Irene, this is a different shop...no age limit but a size limit of size 10. the location I am doing does not sell clothing so I am skipping that part. No purchase on this one either. I have never done p/r and I never think it is worth my time to have to go back again the next day or hang around for 90 minutes. Check it out , there were several available yesterday. I can most likely fit in a size 10...definitely in a top, not sure about pants as it depends on the cut. Usually in better clothing I can wear that size, but they do not restrict what you can try on. The smaller stores do not have clothing. Irene_L.A. Wrote:

I have worked for BH for years, and have never seen a hotel, sunglasses seem to be their biggie.

I have done several sunglasses, as well as a few P & R's when I used to do those. However, I NEVER get the "mall" shops, or really any other shop I apply for with them. So when they send their begging emails for the plumbing fixtures shops no one wants, I click DELETE.
Aren't they still net 30?

I actually had a great experience with Beyond Hello. I had scheduled 10-12 shops with them for early September. I got a call that a cousin of mine had died in CT on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. I sent an email explaining the situation and that I wouldn't be able to do those shops. I get back home the following Sunday and several of the shops were still available. I signed up and received them.

Hmmm... I've done a couple of the high end plumbing fixtures, and I thought they were very easy money.

I've never done the sunglasses which are now filled by a scheduling company. I get a lot of emails, but I can hover over the subject line where I can read the kind of project without opening the email, then "delete" without opening.
Not here! They sit for what seems forever on the board. I always find it funny, a particular shop I LOVE AND COVET, another shopper absolutely hates it and won't touch it with a ten ft pole. Maybe that's why sometimes there are plenty of shops to go around...sometimes! smiling smiley

The plumbing fixture shop sits in my area too. I actually work almost across the street from the thing, but for $12.00, it just doesn't seem like it would be worth it for me. I also highly doubt that I could pull off the high income thing if I'm coming from work. I work in the office of a door shop. We have dirt and dust. I wear jeans and t-shirts to work, and when I leave, my hair does not look the same way as when I arrived. I'm sure I could come up with some cover story about why I look like I don't belong in there, but I'd rather just not deal with it.

The almost daily coffee shop emails do get annoying. There isn't a coffee shop within about 90 miles of me on any of those lists.

Beyond Hello is among my favourite MSCs. I've never had any problem with payment and very few with the editors. I remember how I got a high-end pair of prescription glasses on my very first shop with them.
