How can you tell WHEN you got paid by Bare?

I'm trying to figure out the actual dates I got paid by Bare. I sent Jillian at Bare an email inquiring, and she told me to go to my Shop Log. My shop log doesn't give dates of payment, it just states "received".

Any ideas???

It should say PAID ON and the date.

I don't know if I missed this or if there has been a change. None of my jobs over the last 4 years show a paid on date. With Bare it has never been a concern for me. They send an e-mail with the total to be paid and a nice breakdown of the shops. I just know that within the few days following the e-mail the money will be in my account.

I wonder if I confused it with Intellishop

If you're tracking it in a spreadsheet or database, add a column or field to input the date it was received as soon as it shows up. If keeping track on paper, write it in a different color ink and include the date.

If you can get in the habit of doing it automatically when you're paid, then you won't have the headache of going back trying to figure it out. It's hard to find on the logs of several MSC's.

Having been an IC for many years tracking advertising sales commissions before starting MSing, I knew it was on my shoulders to keep records. No one else cares because it's not their money--except the IRS.
Most sasssie shop logs say when paid but Bare doesnt say. I hope they change this sometime just incase somebody needs to check.

ditto, what Lisa said.
I got the e-mail today. I agree with Lisa, it is a nice breakdown. This month it occurred to me to separate out the total fees from the reimbursements.

When the W2 arrives, will the earnings shown only be the total fees?
You will only get a W-2 statement from them for taxes if you make over $600. Regardless of whether or not you get a statement, you still need to pay the taxes. It is up to us to keep track of the reimbursements vs. fees as some of the companies will report everything as a lump sum.
Yes, marijaldm, the earnings total shown on the W-2 should include fees only, not reimbursements.
SORRY,

I know this is nit picky but you will get a 1099, not a w-2. W-2 is for employees when the company takes taxes out. 1099 is for independent contractors where we take care of our own taxes. Other than that, I agree with Shelly and AustinMom.

it depends on the company if they separate the reimbursements from the shop pay on the 1099. If they dont, make sure you do at tax time.

The easiest to know when you get paid is when you see a direct deposit from bare in your account every momth : )

From my expierance it is usually between the 12th and the 15th of the month your shop is finialiozed
Well thanks to this thread, I found out BARE does direct deposit. Is it just me? I thought it was hard to figure out exactly how to set it up with BARE. I completely missed that they offered it on my profile. I am normally looking for fields that say, "Bank Name", "Routing Number" "Account Number".
In my experience, it's always in the profile _somewhere_ =)) That's the best place to start looking, anyway!

It's been so long since I signed up with Bare, I can't even remember! =DD
They gave you one space and you had to enter your routing number and account number all together followed by a "C".

Bare has a 60 day pay cycle. sometimes it ends up being over 60 days. I do not like shopping for this compnay and have stayed away from their shops because of this.
Bare is not net 60, they are net 30 and always pay on time. Are you confusing them with Intellishop?

Nope. I didn't know until reading this either.

As far as tracking down their back payments, if you were already on direct deposit, does your bank allow you to view back statements online? I know that with PNC, I can view 3+ years of statements. All you'd have to do is look for the Bare DD each month and cross reference that with the pay vs reimbursement totals listed on SASSIE.
I want to make this perfectly clear so there is no misunderstanding. Direct Deposit is only an OPTION with BARE. Even though you THINK you are signed up for direct deposit, it does NOT mean you will be paid by direct deposit. Their "most valued" shoppers who do go out on a limb and do more work for BARE are penalized, and the direct deposit option is not honored.

No... it isn't posted on their FAQ anywhere. That is why I want to insure shoppers are aware that payment can and will be held back for valued shoppers.

I learned this after finding no direct deposit went into my account this month. May I quote from an email received today concerning my lack of payment this month:

"As you have conducted many shops, we want to ensure that we are providing you with the correct payment, therefore we conduct numerous quality checks in house regarding the payment before it’s sent to you. If we were to provide payment via direct deposit, we would lose out on the “extra eyes” for each payment and could potentially result in you receiving an incorrect payment."

While I am described in the same email as a valued shopper, the actual truth is: my work is suspect because of the amount of work I did. Those "extra eyes" aren't necesarily for MY benefit, but the company's.

Lesson learned: The more you do for this company, the more you go out on a limb paying those scenario C's to meet their deadlines, the more you do to help them make deadlines, the more suspect you become as a valued shopper.

Don't rest assured that because you are signed up for direct deposit that BARE will honor your request.
Still no payment from BARE for last month's work. I patiently wait for the mail each day, and it angers me that they didn't honor my requests for direct deposit. I still say... shopper beware, don't expect a direct deposit just because it's on your account. It's their choice when and how to pay you. What you want done with the money you have earned is only a suggestion.
Did you ever have direct deposit with them? I can't tell if you requested it and they didn't honor it or if you've been getting paid that way and they decided to change.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I've always gotten my Bare payments by DD and never had a problem.

I signed up for direct deposit in August. I DID receive my firsr direct deposit without any problems this month. Ms.Baker, are you sure you set it up correctly? The way they have you enter the information on your profile is a bit strange. After entering my information, I was not sure if I did it right, but I must have. Maybe you should give them a call.
My request for direct deposit has been set up since I started shopping with BARE three years ago. They have policies they don't post publicly, because if they did, they wouldn't have the shoppers they need to meet deadlines... like I was doing. I want those policies posted publicly, so other shoppers don't have the negative experience I have had this month.

We are in a communication business. BARE has failed communicated their actual policy on direct deposit, and they owe it to shoppers to be honest with payments. Certainly, shoppers, you do agree? Bare should be honest about pay policies?
