RE: DSG

A search did not turn up the previous thread so heres an update.
They sent me an email about a shop. Fine.
I called them yesterday.
I talked with one of the new employees. (He was not from around here...winking smiley )
He scheduled me for a location today. I told him it was closed. He insisted it was open.
Guess What?
It was closed...winking smiley
I uploaded a picture of the location front with the closed sign displayed.

Apparently they have hired employees who are based in the Phillipines, though DSG insists it is not "outsourcing." Numerous people have complained about the lack of good communication and English skills.

I'm wondering about pay. Like I said I have two shops to do and they sent me the guidlines for one but not the other one, the guy just gave me an address and said 'it's the same guidelines' Im sorry that's just not good enough for me.

They have gone from a good company to not so good. If this continues, it might be time for a boycott. They are just putting more Americans out of work...

I did one shop for DSG in July and received payment from them in late August, problem was that the check was for a lesser amount for the actual meal I purchased. I called last Wednesday or Thursday and was told I would get a call back from a manager- well, I never a got a call back, so I will call later this week.

I just did a 2nd shop for them (it was a rush job, where they were overnighting a GC to use for payment) and had to move the day back because there was no way I was gonna make the 11-2pm shop deadline. They were happy to reschedule.

I will admit, the communciation needs improvement, but I have not had problems thus far. More details later.

I guess that's not a bad strategy on the part of MSC's.

Put more Americans out of work so the pool of potential MSers is bigger and more desperate.

Hmmm....
I, too, am concerned about this company. I just got off the phone with a "scheduler" who could not tell me anything. I explained that I needed to change my coverage area. She took a long time to get it done, then said that she did not know when the next round of shops would be posted, but to check back because they would definitely use me. I just received a check last week for a shop I completed at the end of July. I sometimes wonder if the MSCs do not need shoppers to check on their own company.
I just signed up with DSG. This is probably the worst site I've ever seen. It's like I'm looking at something made with a typewriter.
I'll admit, they could be a little bit more organized, and yes, the web page is a bit antiquated, but I think the effort is there from the customer service reps. I think, they genuinely want to help. I've done 2 shops with them - 1 of them paid by check and I am happy. The shops are really not hard at all.

I agree. The shops are easy. The American Based Schedulers are nice and helpful...

I've been signed up with DSG for a long time..the only shop I ever see is for a particular FF. Never have I seen anything else. Maybe they just don't have alot in the North East.

Here in Texas they also have a high-end retail shop (the same one)

Here is some interesting info for you all. There are several shoppers here in the SoCal area that have quit working with DSG. They are based right here just minutes from my house, and the deal is they sold the business and the new owner has outsourced the call center and the new employees have no clue what they are doing. There have been 2 occasions where they sent the wrong paperwork to shoppers but insisted that it was ok and to go ahead and do the shop. After completing the shop, they were denied payment and never sent the proper paperwork. I hate companies that take away jobs here in the US and outsource so the CEO can line her pockets. DSG is a small company and the new owners are money hungry, and care little about employees or shoppers. I emailed the CEO today and told her to pull me out of their database. For what little they pay, it is not worth it.
The above post is one I'm taking with a grain of salt. I'm always curious when a new poster registers, does not introduce herself, and within 6 minutes writes a post about a particular company and immediately exits. It confuses me. As quickly as the post was made, the poster obviously didn't have time to read much on the forum before posting. It's almost as if the poster came to the site and registered specifically to post this "interesting info." Hmmmmm...... I don't have a dog in this hunt - I don't even shop for DSG although I am registered with them. Just sayin......

Devansca - That's a really harsh post about DSG.

I'm sure you can understand what AustinMom is talking about. When we see a brand new member with an immediate slamming post, we perk up and consider the possibilities of what may really be going on. Sometimes, we find there is more to the story.

Several have posted about problems they are having with changes at DSG, so it sounds like they may be in some kind of transitional phase. Let's hope they can work it out and make it work. In your case, it sounds like there was some misunderstanding about shops and paperwork, and that you did some work and were not paid. I'm sorry that happened to you. Many of us experience problems with shops and companies, and this forum is a good place to get information.

Thanks for joining us. I hope this will be a good place for you.

I don't think people should "jump" on others...we are all adults and can decide for ourselves if the post is a troll or not. People are having issues with schedulers so "perhaps" the post is accurate. I never based all my decisions on "a" post......
I don't have any problem, per se, with someone who signs up with a forum and then immediately posts something negative about an MSC. In fact, I think that is part of human nature. Someone has a complaint, wants to vent/share/badmouth, searches for forums, finds one or more, signs up, and immediately posts. Mission accomplished.

However, I would like to read not only allegations but also facts, especially facts that I can confirm independently. For example, who are the alleged new owners? Is it no longer Donna S. Guido? Who is the CEO? AFAIK, Donna S. Guido has been, and still is, the CEO.
According to both the DSG website and the California Secretary of State, Donna Guido is still the CEO and registered agent for the company.

DSG is a good company. I have worked with them for years now and have never had any problems. They call you a lot though.

Recently I got through to a scheduler here in the States, and she said they have outsourced their call center. So, when I see their name appear on my Caller ID, I don't even bother answering my phone anymore. But I do miss working with them. sad smiley

It's the same with MF when I see their name come up on my Caller ID; I don't answer my cell or house phone anymore.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart..."
So, I was just called from DSG and asked to do an online web based shop for $55. I agreed but asked where the caller was located. He said the Philipines, but "we are based in California." I have never done a shop for them before, because I don't do FF shops, but I said yes to this one. Is anyone familiar with it? I was on the road when I got the call and have not read the details of the shop yet. Should I cancel it? I know its really my decision.............just hoping somebody knows something about this job.
DSG is BASED in CALI, but the call center that they out sourced is Philipines..

I think we all need to boycott them, so they will bring back our old schedulers we were wonderful. And the funny thing is I asked where two of my wonderul old schedulers are, they stated they still work there. ( Yet, I am sure they have no clue who I am talking about since they are in the Philipines)..

I use to love working for this company, great schedulers, and I would pick up last minute shops. Now that they shipped they out-sourced, it's frusterating!! They are reading a script, and even if you have done the SHOP multiple times, they STILL read the script, and can never answer questions that DON"T follow the script.

I have stopped shopping for them at this moment, because my last two shops when I had questions never got answered, so I backed out. The last time I backed out on a shop was 2 years ago when I had the stomach flu. I am the one that usually picks up the last minute shops schedulers are desperate to fill..
I am reading the posts above with interest. Normally I don't have a lot to say about my mystery shopping, which is why there are really no posts from me. I do check the forum every now and then, and there is always something interesting there.

I have worked with DSG for several years, and they usually call me. This is simply because I don't normally go on their website and look for assignments. They have always been accomodating when it comes to time frames and assignments. I have enjoyed working with them, they always pay on time, the communication has been really good, so.... I am a bit concerned now.

I guess I have to see what happens next time they call, if they do, and take it from there.
Hmm is this dsgai.com? If so I have to agree how badly their phone people are. It was if I was calling customer service in an offshored location. It was Yes Mr. <first name> and let me explain what to do Mr. <first name>.

I doubt I will be doing more shops for them.
I just logged on to DSG to see if I was still in their system after reading this thread. Last FF shop was in 2008 - and before that 2006. I remember I vowed to not shop with them anymore because you had to call in your report - even back in 2006 I was entering reports online. Is everything automated now? Or, do I need to still call in reports?

I got a call from one of their reps yesterday when I was in class. I had forgotten to turn off my phone so I ran from the classroom to answer. The rep asked me if I could do a shop I was familiar with the shop so I asked what time (mind you I ran from class!) he said in the evening, I repeated "what time?" he told me that it was from 6 until 11 and I said sure I will do it, he then said okay, now I have to go over the details with you, I asked him if he could just email the details to me and I would call him after class to confirm, he said no, I have to do it now, I said I'm in class I can't go over the details now please email. Again he said no I have to do it now. I then said I can't do the shop. I don't think that I can work with them anymore it's too frustrating with the language barrier.
